Ashlynne Laynne does yet another phenominal job on the second installment of The Progeny Series. In Blood Bond we continue with the very interesting Rousseau clan. Ascher and Shauna finally get hitched, Katy and Gabe's relationship begins to blossom, Quinn and the gang are great secondary characters throughout. There's unique family bonds, secrets, gifts, and awesome suspense throughout the novel. Oh, and did I mention smokin' hot sex...*Sigh* Damn, Ascher, *fans self* you are one hot vampire. *giggles*So if you all haven't had a chance to grab Ashlynne's Progeny Series, I highly recommend reading it. Great job, Ms. Laynne. I'll be on the look out for book 3.

I love the continuation of the story in book two. I love how all of the connections continue to grow. Both romantic and family. A great series!

As I mentioned in my review of The Progeny, there is not much I like better than a good Vampire series...except when it is a good Vampire series that picks up right where the last book left off! Ashlynne Laynne managed to do just that very thing, bringing us right back into the lives of Ascher and Shaunna, the evil Ursula and all of the drama and heartache and love that we felt at the end of Book One. But can she continue this book in the exciting and enthralling manner of Book One?The Good: All of the characters that I came to know and love in the first book, return for round two and they are every bit as enthralling and detailed as before. Ms. Laynne has quite the knack for creating this alternate reality, if you will, and filling it with characters that you either love or hate, not much in between. The storyline grabbed me from the first chapter and I never wanted to put the book down. It wasn't quite the roller coaster effect of book one. Instead it was filled with family and friends and lots and lots of love. That's not to say there wasn't plenty of drama but there was more bonding and supporting and loving family-type behavior that made Blood Bonds very enjoyable. Oh, and don't worry...there is still plenty of sex. ;)The Bad: I really have very little to add to this category this time. The tempo was smooth, making the crescendo and decrescendo flow perfectly. The grammatical error issue has been overcome and the characters are all more mature and developed...and I was not sure that was possible as Ms. Laynne did such a good job developing them in Book One.The Snuggly: H.O.T. S.E.X. Yup, there was indeed a healthy dose of hot sex. That Ascher is one sizzling half-Vamp and you put him and Shauna together and they just cannot keep their hands off each other. Fan. Now. lol Again, this is an Adult book so no wrapping it as a gift for your 16 year old niece. The Rest: “Forever. For always. For eternity.” What a fabulous way to begin this book. Sadly, you begin to wonder if this will indeed happen. (Wanna know if there is a happy ending? Read-the-book) Who wants to read a Vampire book that is happy all the time anyway, right? I am so glad this is a series. And we are lucky because Book 3, Blood Promise, was just published!! I do so love instant gratification, don't you? ;) So all of you Paranormal Romance lovers out there can happily read 3 books of Ashlynne Layne's The Progeny series, available now. Should you? Oh yeah!Rating: 5 Stars*****Note: I received a copy this book in exchange fore my honest and unbiased review. All opinions are my own and no further compensation was received.

I know that if you follow my blog or facebook pages at all, it is fairly obvious that I am romance book whore. But do you know that my go to genre, the type that I would read a thousand times over, is vampire. I LOVE VAMPIRES. So, when two of my favorite people asked if I would be willing to do this series, I said sure. What an amazing trilogy. I read all three books in one night. When I do that I find it easier on me to do one big review rather than individual reviews so here goes. Honor and Loyalty are at the heart of the Rousseau family. It is the bond that binds their loyalties. When Ascher meets Shauna there is no turning back. Sometimes in life, fate takes a hand to complete a destiny. Shauna and Ascher are a destined couple. Try telling that to Ursula. She will not stand for the humilation of having the seal with Ascher broken. She goes to war and revenge is the name of her game. I like that Shauna’s sister Katy has a role in the book. Sometimes the secondary characters can draw you in more than the main ones.In the second book, I was a little distraught. Miscarriages in a book bother me for personal reasons and Shauna’s at the hands of Ursula’s was harsh. Shauna and Ascher are bonding and her sister Katy is in love. Ursula intrigues me. I know that evil never needs a reason for the things they do but there were some places that I just wondered why she kept going on. I understand she was furious with the humilation of getting dumped but I really wanted to tell her to grow up and get over it. How does she think she is going to beat destiny? Why does she think she is more powerful than a prophecy? In the third book they have finally married but war is ever on the horizon and Ursula has more tricks up her sleeve than a magician. Shauna and Ascher are a wonderful couple and the love and passion they share is breathtaking. If you follow my reviews then you know that I don’t like spoilers. I think they take the essence of the author’s work away from the reader. This series is a fabulous read for anyone that likes paranormal. Yes, it shares some basic characteristics with other vampire books. In this day and age I think it would be hard not to. This is one of those series that needs to be savored and devoured. Read it. Then come back here and tell me that I was right and it’s a kickass series.

I love when a series book continues right where it left off! ESPECIALLY when it was so very good to begin with! Ashlynne continued with a strong going and endearing story that had even more romance, magic and fun than before. For anyone planning to read this, I strongly recommend reading book one of the series’ first. You’ll enjoy it so much more if you do.Ascher and Shauna have come a long way, been though many good times and just as many bad, all in the short span of time they’ve been together. But their love continues to grow into one of the strongest levels I’ve ever experienced in my reading life, a love so endearing, emotional and pure that it brings tears to my eyes. Yes, they have some ups and downs, ins and outs. But they come together even stronger than before and have amazing make up lovin’ when they do ;)There’s a lot more going on within the story that just Ascher and Shauna. There’s another relationship in bloom, a bad guy (actually a chick) that needs to be smashed, burned and tossed to the deepest depths of the garbage dump (oh, sorry to be so harsh. It’s the truth though, you’ll see). We get to experience happy reunions, growths and changes from many of the amazing characters Ashlynne has created for us. Definitely a lot of excitement and fun to be had that’s for sure!Ok, I’ll admit it! I’m addicted to The Progeny series! Help, please!! I’m in dire need of the next book and STAT! If not, I believe I’m in need of a Progeny anonymous group :)

The Progeny knocked my socks off, Blood Bonds blew me away! Just as I have been known to say, book one in a series may get only 4 stars, because I want to see growth from an author in book two. Slam dunk for Laynne.Blood Bonds brings us back to the fabulous world of the Rousseau family. Ash and Shauna are about to seal and marry, two different rites of passage in the world of humans, Wiccans, and vampires. The characters continue to develop as their story unfolds more and more in the second book of the series. We get to see a few new characters and others evolve into stronger players in this tale of love, hatred, and long-standing feuds. This story flowed so easily, I was quickly lost in it and depressed when the end came so soon. Plot drove the story line perfectly, from Shauna's indecisiveness over the wedding, Ash's impulsive need to protect Shauna, the Rousseau family's introduction to the Wiccan factor of the sealing, and Ursula's intense need for revenge. The story doesn't lack for action, romance, wicca, vampiric strength/weakness, and revenge. In true Laynne form it also doesn't lack for steamy sex scenes that make you melt from the pure heat. These are not for children! They are oh so good though for erotic romance.

"Forever. For always. For eternity"- Ashlynne Laynne Progeny SeriesBlood Bond (#2)For Acsher and Shawna their blood bond is more than true love. It is ordained, it is prophecy, it part of vampire legend and it is beautiful to read about. Acsher has found his love as a halfling vampire in a Wiccan beauty Shauna and there is nothing to stop them from living happily ever after right?Oh so wrong! I shall not ruin it for you but as the saying goes "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" and let me tell you Acsher's Ex is one of those females! She is hell bent on ruining not only Acsher and Shauna's happiness but his entire family!I love the mix of Vampire and Wiccan lore as it continues in this book along with continued growth of the main and supporting characters. These are definitely adult books here people so don't leave them around for your teens to read as the erotic tone is turned up while still maintaining the intimacy and feeling. There are many choices Acsher and Shauna have to make in which they don't know the repercussions of but they take them on one at a time with bravery and love while fighting for their family.I really love this series and characters so far! Can't wait to read the next installment!5 out of 5 Bats Review by Toni

Blood Bond started off a little slow for me but did not disappoint. Ascher and Shauna are prepping for their sealing and wedding. Her sister Katy and new brother in law Gabe, seem to be into one another. Ursula and her darklings are still after them. But now, Shauna and Ascher have another after them. Will they ever have a happily ever after? Ashlynne is building up the storyline for something big.. I can feel it. Although I found the first part of the book a little slow to get into, the second half made up for it. With the introduction to some awesome new characters, I can't wait to see their role in the story and I can't wait to see what happens next in Blood Promise, book 3 of the Progeny Series.
