4 Smut Scale StarsThis was hot, but short. Very short. I think it ended at 75% or some such nonsense.

Matteo Moretti is the HOT new dirty-talking, mafia boss in town. Jessica, deciding to have a ONS after a break up with her boyfriend, meets Matteo at a bar and he goes home with her. Neither can forget the other. When Jessica has a nice little surprise, she meets up with Matteo to discuss options. What then ensues isDesk sexCar sexShower sexThis book was definitely not lacking in the sex department. Throw in some suspense and action with a sweet epilogue and you have pretty good story. My biggest complaint is that it ended at 64% on my Kindle app. I was really disappointed because I wanted more. It would have been a solid 5 star read for me if it had been longer. These two were smoking HOT! There was a bonus story included but I did not read it.

This was a surprisingly good book considering it's length. It had a lot going on, but the plot didn't feel rushed. Both characters were well written. Matteo Moretti was sexy as fuck. I do wish she would have stayed angry with him for a bit longer than she did. I like that type of angst and would have liked to see Matteo have to work a bit harder to get her back, but that was just a small issue.Overall I loved this one.

I just could not get into this couple. Then the later reveals about the hero totally finished hiim off for me. It was an ok read, but yet another example of the heroine letting the hero off the hook for being an epic douche! The curse of the magic peen strikes again!

short and steamy with a bit of suspense - I enjoyed this one. A bit predictable but a good pick if you want a quick book with a lot of sexy scenes.

Oh Lordy, that was one sexy mob boss. And perhaps the best response to a pregnancy announcement, ever. “Show me where my baby is.” His sudden coolness has vanished and lust flares in his eyes...“My baby’s inside of you,” he says, his other hand running up my leg and gripping my thigh. “My baby.”Despite its shorter length, it still managed to have an interesting story and characters and crack me up at the same time. I mean, here's a real concern... (*smirk*)"What if he’s into some weird shit, like flogging girls or making homemade kombucha?"Jessica forgave Matteo a little faster than I would have, but with the extreme situation it was a little was a little easier to move past. "...after he lays me on his dining room table and fucks the shit out of me, he cleans me up and goes to find some of the peppermint tea he bought because he read about it in the baby book. The idea of Matteo reading a baby book of his own free will is so fucking hot to me."

For being on the shorter side, this story had a lot going on. Matteo was a hottie for sure and he was devoted to the h. I was a little worried that things were going south for a few pages but he came through for me lol safe steamy read. No cheating, the only om/ow drama was her ex trying to cause problems for them but he was stopped. A few twist that were easy to predict. A decent epilogue that made you unable to resist loving the couple.

Fantastic book with super possessive and obsessive H. There were a lot of HOT sex scenes in this book. My only complaint is that the book ends at 65%.

Jessica Simmons needed a one night rebound and she found it with Matteo Moretti. Weeks later, Jessica finds out that she is pregnant. Having to tell Matteo is going to be a father, is not on Jessica's want to do list but she knows he deserves to know. Matteo has been thinking of Jessica since they had their one night together. Matteo is delighted to be a father and wants Jessica by his side. For Jessica though it sounds it is to good to be true, but Matteo is determined to prove to Jessica that he is serious and has no plans on letting her go. Past rivals though their is more to Matteo than meets the eye and will Jessica be able to accept him for who he is?This was fun but I think I would have liked a bit more development between Jessica and Matteo. They are kind of insta-love but not at the same time. Enjoyable story.

This is my first book by Rae Lynn Blaise and it was really good although it was short so it did feel a bit rushed but the story line was very good. Jessica just dumped her cheating boyfriend and she's at the bar looking for a one night stand. She takes Matteo Moretti, a rich, high powered businessman home with her. The two of them have the best sex of their lives and they both can't stop thinking about each other. A few weeks later Jess finds out she's pregnant and since they didn't exchange numbers she has to track him down at his office. She is shocked when she tells Matteo and he actually seems happy and excited about her pregnancy. Why would a man she had amazing sex with a couple of times in one night be happy about having a baby with her ?

This book was hard for me to rate. Had very mixed feelings. It was good, in that the book drew me in and I couldn't put it down. Loved that there was no ow/om drama. It was more of a dark/dysfunctional romance. Loved that the H was tough and protective - would literally take a bullet for the h. However, he had an unsavory/unhonorable side I had trouble reconciling with. He did not mind using an innocent person in unconscionable ways. So he was not, imo, a good bad guy. The h was sweet, but irresponsible and didn't seem to have much of a backbone. He was very demanding, she was not. I ended up not really caring for either H or h. Days later I am still thinking about the book (does not happen often). Had great potential, but fell short for me. Loved parts, hated other parts.

I would have given this book 5 stars but it absolutely drives me nuts when a book ends at 70% and you have a ton of other books or sneak peaks at the end of the book. A sneak peak of the next book or another book by the author is fine but not a whole book or several first chapters.

I thought this story would be different, I figured the H would be bullying the h to be with him and she'd be resisting but she pretty much went "yeah baby, I'm game". Not complaining though. There was a twist in the story that made it interesting.

Major spoilers, don't read unless you want the 'twist' revealed to you. Contains strong language and a pissy attitude 'cause I'm feeling a little .. disgruntled. I made the mistake of reading this without checking out more details beforehand, once I'd seen it was considered safe, I went ahead which probably makes sense to most people but I'm picky and sensitive and therefore now a little irritated and pissy. It wasn't a great story to start with but I wanted something slightly cheesy with a criminal element and basically no bullshit. Turns out this is riddled with bullshit. First off there was a few things that niggled at me throughout the beginning of the book, just small things but things nonetheless. I didn't feel the connection between the MC's at all, all I could think was that if she hadn't gotten pregnant then they would have never have seen each other again. I didn't see the feelings, only the lust and 'sexual hunger'. It was too fast and not believable in the slightest. The heroine was one of 'those ones' that melt at the sight of the heroes eyes or his naked chest and become disgustingly compliant and brainless. Now for the thing that made my DNF; the heroine finds out at about 40% that the hero knocked her up on purpose as a revenge/power move against the heroines uncle who's secretly a leader of a criminal organisation that deals in a lot of things but most importantly, the sale of underage girls and boys. (It's also revealed the uncles promised/sold her to be married to her ex boyfriend who cheated on her) There's this big reveal where the uncle, the hero and the heroine are all in her apartment and she's devastated to find out the man she loves was using her blah blah blah, fucking ridiculous if you ask me. (Can you tell I'm pissy?) She does what I would do, (short of killing them both) and decides to leave with her unborn baby and she doesn't even get inside her car before the hero is there and one kiss is all it takes to have her giving in. oh lord what a stupid doormat heroine we've been gifted. Anyway they end up fucking against her car and then there's a shootout and she's kidnapped. DNF. I feel like I've grown up a little on my short time here on Goodreads and I've made the conscious decision to be more accepting of what authors choose to write, because obviously it's people's own preferences so I'm not mad at the author, I'm mad at myself for not doing more research before reading (even if it meant having to see spoilers because that is my reading experience these days...). Maybe this book turns around in some miracle way and that's why people enjoyed it but there's no mistake (unless the heroine wakes up and realised this whole shit show is a dream) that the hero purposely impregnated the heroine as a power move to get back at his rival and gain power in his criminal empire, imo its sick and not a hero I want to fall in love with, or even lust after. There's no way I could respect the heroine in any way if she was have a future with the hero, the only way I could have appreciated the rest of this story was if she either got the fuck out of dodge and created a new life for her and her child or become a badass psycho bitch assassin and shown those two controlling, disgusting men that she had her own power. (Away from them) I'm not holding out hope for either of my suggestions coming true so I'll dnf to save myself the irritation of seeing the heroine have a HEA with a man who used her and her body and additionally created another human being like a bloody test tube experiment for the sole purpose of having the figuratively bigger dick. Smut or otherwise, not the book for me. I apologise for the 'messiness' and probably shocking grammar and random words spouted in this review, it's one of those times when I need to rant but can't find the effort to take my time when the books (imo) not worth it. Also what's with all the brackets?

A quick, entertaining romance, that even with a fairly common plot, manages to surprise occasionally.Title: Made for Him: A Mafia Baby RomanceAuthor:Rae Lynn BlaiseGenre: Contemporary RomanceMain Characters:Jessica Simmons is young, cute, has a great job at a top law firm, and a decent boyfriend - until she catches the boyfriend dipping his wick in the local barista. So she does something she normally wouldn’t - gets drunk and picks up a hookup. No harm, no foul. Except of course, unless you get pregnant during said hookup. Matteo Moretti is a mostly self-made man. His family has been in organized crime for most of its existence, but after his father single handedly tanked their empire, Matteo has had to work twice as hard to get respect to the Moretti name again. You would think the last thing he would want to deal with was a one night stand turning up pregnant….. right?Plot/Conflict:Obviously I’m not giving anything away by mentioning that Jessica is pregnant, and that Matteo is the father, all due to a one night stand. When Jessica realizes she has a baby on the way, she only has two people to reach out to, her Uncle, who has looked out for her since her parent’s death, and the father, who she has only ever met once. She doesn’t expect either to be thrilled at the news. Except Matteo surprises her, immediately taking an interest in not only the baby, but in getting to know Jessica better. Despite realizing that Matteo comes with some less than legal baggage, Jessica decides to stay on for the ride, as long as she feels she and the baby are safe - but it turns out Jessica’s family has just as many secrets as Matteo’s, and their worlds colliding doesn’t mean good things for anyone.Loves: I loved that there was not a huge internal conflict from Jessica when she found out about Matteo’s mafia ties. She sees guns in the house, the increased security, and when she finds out it's because he deal in certain aspects of organized crime, while combatting the less savory aspects (human trafficking, hard drugs) she comes to the conclusion that she can live with it fairly quickly because she trusts that Matteo is a decent person despite not being law abiding. I have an affinity for plots like this, where there is acceptance and trust, rather than the whole woe-is-me, I-thought-he-was-a-good-man things, or worse yet, the women who disagree with the lifestyle, but turn a blind eye when the money it brings in keeps with in high end clothes and jewelry.Likes: I liked the writing style. I was concerned, as I generally am, due to a lot of the Kindle Unlimited books with cheesy titles and covers being silly, frivolous plots that just hint at an even cheesier story line in order to deliver porn-style sex scenes. This was not one of them. This kept me genuinely entertained. I thought the best part was the extra twist, (view spoiler)[ Jessica’s own Uncle being the rival organized crime leader than Matteo is trying to shut down(hide spoiler)] really made the story more interesting. It was one I didn’t see coming, and in a sea of predictable plot lines, that is pretty rare.Peeves: There wasn’t a lot of romantic development, because hello, insta-love. Matteo technically fell in love with Jessica when he saw her book shelf during their one night stand. While I can appreciate that, being the penultimate bookwork, I prefer a little more work and character development going into a love story. While I was thrilled there was no back-and-forth internal struggle over Matteo’s profession, I did think Jessica forgave him too quickly after (view spoiler)[ she found out that he targeted her and got her pregnant on purpose(hide spoiler)]. I don’t know if their connection should have been strong enough for her to take his word that things had changed. But that is going back to point one on the lack of development in their relationship.Favorite Quote: “I’m not a good man, Jessica. I do bad things. But my grandfather raised me to believe that even bad men had to have a code, a line that they wouldn’t cross. Even bad men have to have honor.”

I bought this book mostly to see if what I assumed about this book because of the subtitle was true. It was. This book/novella is very, very short. I think it finished around 65% in my version, and the last 35% were the first 7 chapters of a different book by the author. The characters were all painfully one-dimensional, and I honestly saw no growth in the relationship between Jessica and Matteo since pretty much the only interactions we saw between them are sex. Sure, Blaise hints that they share common interests, like well-loved novels, but she never depicts them discussing any common interests. The reader is supposed to infer that having common interests and being attracted to one another causes instant love, I guess, which I find hard to believe. (I know everything is just a vehicle for the smut, but still...)I was likewise made very uncomfortable by the breakneck speed at which it was revealed that Jessica's uncle was actually Matteo's enemy, had killed Jessica's parents and promised she would belong to her ex, and then was murdered by the niece who, 150 pages earlier, was telling the reader how much that relationship meant to her. I also really, really, really hated how quickly Jessica forgave Matteo after finding out he'd known who she was all along and set out to get her pregnant. She went from leaving to having sex with Matteo in the parkade in no time flat, and I really didn't like how it excused Matteo's phenomenally shitty behaviour. When I bought this book, I assumed it would be light on plot and heavy on sex scenes, and it was definitely that. Unfortunately, almost nothing about this book worked for me. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the writing was competent.

Rating: 4.5 starsI read this novel with little to no expectations since I'd never read anything this author had written before coming across this book. I didn't expect enjoy it as much as I did. What a welcome surprise! With the exception a few typos, punctuation errors and a corny or two, this book had everything I'd want in a light read:PASSION: the connection & sexual tension were off the charts.CHARACTERS: were well-developed and interesting (could have used a tiny bit more development in some cases like Uncle Jimmy but not bad).LOVE SCENES: Hot Hot HOT! INTRIGUE: kept storyline moving a with little twistEPILOGUE: didn't leave me hanging. I finished the book satisfied and looking for another by this author in my online bookstore.Keep up the good work!

Awww!!!! I loooove this book and itsy-bitsy love story in it. Psssttt... Have I told you that I love the hot-bed-scenes too much? Yeah? Yup! In this book, you'll find the a lot. A LOT, baby, and I love them so very much!Yeah it was simple and short story with almost non drama in it, but well, those kind of book was my simple sweet and abso-fvcking-lutely my kind of book. HEA with maximum romanticism ALERTS!!The main story wasn't show-up until the kind-of-ends of this book and when you read it, hm.... I kinda like to punch the hero right to his balls but the problem solving was a quick and I loveeee this kind of book. The un-smart-move wasn't take so long and make the babbling plot more babbling. Yes. To the point plot it was. And yes, this very kind of my book ;)

This story was better than I expected and unique in many ways. It got darker than I expected and a little bit scarier than I expected. Clearly, I was not sufficiently prepared for what I got when I started reading.Jessica, orphaned at a young age, has just broken up with her cheating ex-boyfriend. She decides to get a little wild because she never does. Enter Matteo Morretti. He is hot and dark and she takes him home. As their romance progresses, I totally fell in love with him. When his secrets came out I hated him a little bit. This story is hot and fast and well worth reading. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it.

This was an enjoyable, fast paced, and sexy story. And yet it was also sort of predictable and too short. (Maybe I just watch to many crime TV shows.) I would have loved for the story to be a little more drawn out. The author was able to create such chemistry great between Matteo and Jessica. I definitely would have loved to read more about them and not just fast forwarding four months ahead. Overall it was quick and entertaining, but I had to take some stars away because it was just too short in my opinion.
