First reviewed at Keeper BookshelfTo say that Sherri’s life, both professionally and personally, had gone to hell in a handbasket recently would be an understatement. After the betrayal of her now thankfully former boyfriend and the mess he created for her at work, Sherri has been demoted, relocated and is now on an enforced “vacation” before taking up her new duties. She figures she’s lucky to still even have a career, but damn, how could she have been so blindsided.Shifters are not unknown in this world building. Perhaps not a well known fact, instead of myth, still the wolves are a natural part of this world. While many people still make the occasional snide remark, or really in bad taste kind of joke, we find wolf shifters in all aspects of society.Sherri hasn’t come in contact with a shifter before. And at first, she didn’t realize that the hot, sexy male who roared up to her hotel on his motorcycle was a shifter. She just saw a ruggedly handsome guy with an “I’m a bad boy” attitude stride into the hotel lobby and out of sight.Asher has had enough of his brother messing with his business. Tonight he’s confronted Jojo at the hotel bar where he’s working. After a heated argument with some serious chest thumping, Ash notices that no one in the bar is really paying attention to the fight with his brother … except that beauty at a table for one, who is obviously reaching for a gun that’s not where it’s supposed to be, watching the confrontation from across the bar.Sherri keeps a concerned eye on the obvious fight going on between the handsome stranger and the small, irritating man behind the bar. While her first instinct to protect and serve halted when she realized she wasn’t carrying her weapon, she still kept a close watch on the situation. To her surprise once the fight ended, the sexy aggressor walked straight across the bar and sat down across from her.Ash didn’t do relationships. Hell, he didn’t do second dates. But this woman pulled at him and if she was up for it, he’d gladly spend some serious sexual time with the fearless lady. Sherri didn’t do one night stands. But for this man she would rethink that rule. She was off duty, totally messed up and for once a night of hot, intense sex with a stranger wasn’t a bad idea at all.Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf was a completely hot, sexy, intense and enjoyable read. While a relatively short story, it packed a punch with characters that jumped off the pages. I loved Ash. A kick ass, take care of business kind of man, he took himself out of his pack when he disagreed with his father’s tendency to go along with his younger brother’s illegal activities. Ash and his brother Jett stepped away from the pack, but that certainly didn’t take them away from pack troubles. The sexual attraction was hot between Sherri and Ash. And even though it started as a one night of sex , it wasn’t farfetched to me when they continued working the obvious attraction.I enjoyed this novella and look forward to finishing the storyline in the next one. There are more stories to tell with the other characters introduced in this one, and their tales should be just as intense as this first couple. If you’re a shifter fan, love paranormal romance and absolutely pant over a hot, sexy alpha male claiming his mate – this one is for you. Go for it.*I received an e-ARC of Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

Sherri is on a forced leave of absense from her work as agent, when she finds herself in the hotel bar, flirting with a gorgeous biker. What was supposed to be a one night stand, turns into more when she´s first tricked into meeting him again by the barkeep, and later abducted and smack in the middle of a shifter brawl. Asher doesn´t do second dates, but Sherri awakens something within, and when she ends up in the middle of trouble, he sees no other outcome than going in after her. Quick read, shifters and smut in a great combo.

I am a huge fan of Elisabeth Staab's fangtabulous Chronicles of Yavn series and was beyond thrilled when I was given a review copy of her novella Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf. While I'm still bummed that my Heroes with fangs have come to a close, I'm excited about this new world that Ms. Staab created.Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf was everything I've come to expect from an Elisabeth Staab story. It was action-packed, super smexy, snarky, and hooked me from page one. Asher Hughes is a hotter than hell, lone wolf who severed ties with his old pack due to the illegal nature of their business. He went on to create a life for himself, even though he gets dragged back into pack business on occasion. As much as he would love to keep his distance and/or tell them all to frak off, they're family. Agent Sherri Walker is relocating due to issues at work. I won't go into detail as it's important to Sherri's character development, but I will say that Sherri was betrayed by someone she trusted and is now getting some much needed R&R before starting her new job. Last thing she expected was to end up bringing a stranger back to her hotel room, to have her naughty way with. Sherri has read about and researched werewolves, but she had never met one until Ash walked into her life. She may not have been looking to get involved in werewolf politics, but she ended up right in the middle of it.The world building and character development in Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf were both really strong, Ash is unbelievably hot *swoons*, Sherri was snarky and fun, the smexy times are aplenty, the dedicated was spot on (cause David Gandy is the shite!), and the novella left me wanting more in this world. Ash and Sherri were great together and I hope that we will get more of them. I'd love to see how their budding relationship plays out and if they can make it work. I'd also really, really like more of Jett and Kyle. I give Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf 4 stars. *eARC PROVIDED BY AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR HONEST REVIEW*

Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf, Elisabeth StaabGenre:  Romance, Fantasy/ParanormalReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsThis is a shortish book at around 160 pages. That works for many readers though, like a friend of mine who has limited time and says she really wants to finish a book, while still remembering how it started ;-) For me though, I prefer longer ones to give a more in-depth story. Still, its well written, and the characters and plots are very clear. I liked the intensity between Sherri and Ash, I could feel the pull of attraction. They’re both wary of anything more than a quick one nighter but once they are together they find it hard to switch off thoughts of the other and move forward. This brings them into some very real dangers. The length restrictions mean its a fairly simplistic read, with one main plot, some danger and lots of steamy sex scenes. They were well written and fitted perfectly. The bad guys too, they were well drawn, and I found it easy to dislike them and want for Sherri and Ash to succeed in their endeavour to get through the dangers safely. Its a standalone story, no cliff-hangers ( hurrah!) and I could see more books coming from these characters. Its labelled Book One so I’m assuming there are more to follow. Certainly the characters are strong enough to stand up to more books.  Stars:  Four, a decent though short read.  ARC provided by Netgalley and publishers

4.5 STARS - WILD NIGHTS WITH A LONE WOLF Sherri Walker is a good agent but after her last boyfriend betrayed her and almost ended her career Sherri is on forced leave before taking up her new post in Phoenix. Asher Hughes is a lone wolf choosing to separate himself from his vicious father and the Los Lobos Muertos pack he keeps to his land but that doesn't the pack won't still cause him trouble.Sherri first crosses paths with Asher when she arrives in town and Asher cross paths again at the bar where he is having a heated discussion with another man. Seeing Sherri, Ash finds himself drawn to her and it is not long before their attraction to each other causes Sherri to forget her inhibitions and invite Ash to her room. But will that be her second mistake because soon she will find herself kidnapped by his former pack and Ash will be her only way out but at what cost. Can Ash keep Sherri safe and will Sherri still be there when this nightmare is over.

It was phenomenal! Ash is a great hero. He is super rough and tough, but has his soft qualities too. Everything was very well balanced and I really enjoyed him. I thought Sherri was great too! It was cool to see her take a walk on the wild side. One of my favorite things about this story was how you could tell Ash and Sherri each had a complicated history. They are mentioned in the book, but do not overshadow the craziness that the two experience in just a couple of days. Everything was exciting...the story, the characters, the dialogue, the body language. It was all done very well! I really really really hope this is the beginning of a series. I'm not ready to let these characters go just yet. I received this story in exchange for an honest review, but I'm planning on purchasing the box set.

I really like this book! This is different type of werewolf story. It's also refreshing that there was no instant love. Just a sexual attraction and a what starts out as a one night stand. Ash is drool worthy. He is estranged from his criminal family, when he is dragged back in by his half brother. Sherri has been kidnapped and is to be sold as a slave. Of course Ash comes to the rescue. This is the first of a trilogy, and I have to say I bought the other two. I loved them! I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley for an honest review.

From what I can gather this novella and the following ones make up a full novel. The first can be read alone, as it has some kind of resolution. But I can't say it has a strong, gripping writing. Maybe with a more tight plot, a smoother style, it would have been a better reading experience for me. The idea is interesting, but the format is too short, and it takes a very skilled writer to give me a good feeling with shorter stories. Here I got a silly/messy world building, not enough characterization (some back story isn't enough), half a plot with some holes too.Not the novella for me.

I have several books by Elisabeth Staab and have loved each and every one. This book starts out with Sherri being rejected by her lover and then her bosses. They sent her to Arizona and lowering her in rank. She meets Ash and they connect to each other.. He would fight anybody who tried to hurt her including his family. There is romance and plenty of action in this book.. It is worth reading!!!

I really enjoyed Sherry and Asher' s story, in some ways a little different from the books that I usually read about shapeshifters.Sherry and Asher are so different, between them is the classic attraction that can strike when opposites attract, but unlike the usual it started as an adventure, a one night-stand a really hot one, but " thanks" to Asher's half-brother they met again and everything is going to happen certainly is not for his brotherly love, indeed ...I found the plot quite original and the story well-written, very smooth and compelling while I was reading it. For sure Asher had all his reasons for walking away from his pack and family; what keeps the pack together isn't the bond you used to read between wolves, everything is linked to power and dealing with outlaws activities, and loyalty is far from being one of the more i portant things.Sherry is a great female character, strong, intelligent, sensual, but very unfortunate with her boyfriend choice.Asher seems to be the classic dark and handsome guy, hot and above the rules, but in fact he has his principles and his rules. What I liked the most in their story it's they're not soul mates, eternal love professed from the start, they share passion, a bond of trust that begin in a short time, but as it is written, the author leave space for them to know one another and see how it can go between them.I was very intrigued with Asher's brother, Jett, and I hope it will be space to him and his story in the future, because he deserves it.Thanks to Netgalley and Elisabeth Staab for the book.RATING: 3 1/2 starsMi è piaciuta veramente molto leggere la storia di Sherry e Asher, sotto alcuni aspetti un po' diversa dai libri che di solito leggo sui mutaforma.

Sherri is an FBI agent who got played by her boyfriend (who apparently had a boyfriend!). Off to lick her wounds and get over the humiliation she is staying at a hotel. In the hotel bar she spots a guy in motorbike leathers having words with the bartender. Then he comes to her table with a glass of whisky. Tired of being the good girl, the one who follows the rules, the one who thought she had the perfect boyfriend who turned out to be using her for information for his boyfriend's illegal activities, Sherri decides to give the stranger a chance.Asher is a lone wolf. His family along with most packs are into lots of illegal things, guns and drugs and kidnapping. He is the oldest son of the Alpha and therefore in line to be Alpha but he and his brother don't want all that. Instead he owns a restaurant and tries to help out other lone wolves who come to him for help.Asher's step-brother is now the heir apparent, he's also bat-shit crazy and he has been trying to get Asher's waitresses to act as "hostesses" at his club, or so Asher thinks. In fact, Asher's step-brother is trafficking women across the border in return for drugs. What was a one-night stand turns into something much more when Sherri is kidnapped by Ash's brother - can he rescue her without being sucked back into pack politics?I was put off this by the suggestions of an MC-type book from the blurb and the cover but rest assured (unless you like those books) there is nothing like this, although arguably the pack is similar to an MC.Sherri and Ash are pretty honest characters. Ash finds himself going all "mine" and protective but he sees it in himself and knows Sherri won't like it so he suppresses it. Simialrly, Sherri quite likes it when Ash gets all dominant in the bedroom but it's low-key and just part of their repertoire rather than the only way they can ever have sex!I liked this and bought the second book on the strength of this - didn't realise until then that I had read and enjoyed several other books by Elisabeth Staab

Agent Sherri Walker had been betrayed by her ex boyfriend Ryan and had been demoted and transferred but she at least help put Ryan in prison. Now Sherri has two weeks of forced leave of absence to get her head straight before going back to work. When at the bar Sherri notices a biker come in and start trouble with the bartender then the biker comes to sit at Sherri’s table with some whiskey and apologizes for the interruption of her evening. Ash is a werewolf but he is no longer affiliated with a pack as he had a fight with his father about the illegal dealings of the pack. Ash is now a respectable business owner. Sherri decided to forget her rule dedicated life for a night and sleeps with Ash. Sherri is kidnapped by Ash’s former pack and he feels he has to help her or she will be sold as a slave. I like this story a lot felt for Sherri though. She was definitely having a bad year. Thank goodness there was Ash. For a novella it told a complete story as far as I am concerned. Also thank you for no cliffhangers. I like the characters the bad guys are really bad that is for sure it’s good to not like them at all. Also all the twists and turns Sherri goes through was amazing. And Ash also. I recommend.I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

I love Shifer Romances...I have a real soft spot for them. I also adore Biker Romances so when I saw this book on Netgalley I just had to read it! Netgalley gave this book to me in exchange for an honest review. This is a short book only about 160 pages so for me it really was a novella. Now this length works for many readers because they either read slower or are extremely busy that they forget how a book began when they finally get to end. In my case I like my books longer 300 pages specifically. In this short a book it is very difficult for a writer to world build, create deep characters and write a complete, in depth plot and this book suffered some of the same issues. However the intensity between Sherri and Ash was good and I could feel the attraction. The book itself was pretty simple and the story was overshadowed with the steamy sex scenes. This is a stand alone novel but also book 1 in a new series with these characters continuing on. The writing was a bit choppy but the premise was interesting so if you are looking for a quick read, with shifters and steam you may love this book, for me it was a 3 star read.

Great book by a newly discovered author! This is the first book I have read by this author. I really liked it. So much so, that I have gone and purchased some of her other books! This is a werewolf and human story - not starting out a love story, but an action story. Ash is a lone werewolf who left his pack years ago because he didn't like the businesses they were getting into. He has an adversarial relationship with his cocaine-addicted half-brother Jojo who is stealing Ash's waitresses for Jojo's supposed 'escort' service. Our heroine is Sherri, a vacationing, disillusioned, FBI agent, who meets Ash in a bar and thinks it's just a one night stand. BUT, they are both hooked. And Jojo has his nasty fingers in the situation. We have border smugglers, abducting and selling women, stranger creatures than even's a blast of a story! Sherri gets abducted and the only way out looks like a werewolf mating ceremony with Ash!?!? Well worth reading. And it's only the first book in the series!

Although this is book 1 (about the same characters in 2 & 3), it does end with a resolution. As it is a novella, the story line and character development is accelerated. For me, I needed a little more back story around Asher's family and the pack. The world does know about wolves, so that's not a surprise to anyone. Asher's brother, Jett, confused me and it's possible his character is developed more in the next two parts of this series. I did like the sister-in-law, Zoe, and it does appear she is part of the plot for #2. Although I was confused and felt like I was missing something (like this is a spin-off of an existing series with a back story?), I did like the characters. Asher and Sherri had great physical and emotional chemistry. They were very easy going and comfortable with each other. I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from the publisher/author for an honest review. Thanks so much for the opportunity to read this first book in the series.

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for an honest review. This is the 2nd time I have come into contact with this book in the "Seductive Supernaturals: 12 Tales of Shapeshifters, Vampires & Sexy Spirits" book. Elisabeth Staab really brings it when it comes to this story. This book was everything the cover says it is "a sexy walk on the wild side." Agent Sherri Walker has had a horrible year and a vacation is needed big time. So when she meets Asher Hughes she can not resist the allure of a one night stand with a tall sexy hunk of a man. What she thought would be one night of passion turns into a very crazy time and luckily Asher shows up to make things just a little bit better. This book is FREE right now on Amazon Kindle ebooks, how this is happening I have no clue! Get it while its hot because it is definitely a great read, by a great author, for a great price!

He owns a local Were bar and mainly deals with other Were's, Lone Wolves, and humans. He is a love them and leave them type of guy. Until he meets her.Sherri is a FBI agent and is on a short leave/vacation. She had a bad breakup and needs some time to de-stress. She meets a gorgeous man at the bar and decides to de-stress with little one night stand and with amazing sex. Only problem is is JoJo Ash's crazy brother has other plans. This was such a good story. This is my first by this author and can't wait for more of this series

Contemporary wolf shifter romance with a sexy lone wolf and a vacationing FBI Agent. This story would have been a lot hotter if it was a M/M romance and we do get a little of that with the gay brother, Jett.Sherri Walker is on a force vacation before she has to show up to her new job in a new town after she gets in big trouble for dating the wrong person. So she is looking for some fun and rebound sex with the shifter, Asher Hughes. I liked the beginning when they are just having fun, but when Asher's crazy half brother and father's pack illegal activities was when I started to lose interest.I forced myself to finish but this has cliffhanger tendencies because there are more books about Sherry and Ash.162 pages and kindle freebie2 stars

I enjoy this author's vampire series so I was excited to see she has started a new shifter one. This book/novella did not disappoint. Sheri is an agent who's fallen on hard times at work and she's on a forced "vacation". A few drinks one night and she ends up with Asher who is a shifter and has some problems of his own. Unfortunately his problems end up being hers and the two are thrown together in a way they hadn't planned. This was fun and sexy and I enjoyed both of the main characters and the plot. New to me author, I'm always a fan of trying out paranormal romances. Sherri is taking a night to herself. After almost losing her job because of an ex, she needs time to herself and a release. Getting drunk and a one night stand sound like the perfect solution. What she doesn't expect is lone wolf Asher and the connection they make after their one night. But that connection doesn't go unnoticed by Asher enemies and Sherri becomes bait in a fight she had no stake in. As Asher works to free Sherri, he fights to show her that this lone wolf is worth the risk. Great first read, intrigued by where the series goes from here.

I think I'm in a reading funk. I normally love werewolf stories, but this one wasn't my favorite. It didn't feel like a romance. It felt like that aspect was secondary to the story, even though it was written with it threading throughout. If you like crime families and a border town feel, then you'll enjoy this book.

Funny, unpredictable, erotic, romantic. Not only did this read have humour, it was sweet and romantic. When you thought you knew what was going to happen next a new twist was thrown in. Even the ending kind of left you hanging. Still, I feel this was a good story. I would read this again. Can't wait for the next book.

I liked the protagonists, but I'm not happy about the premise that wolf shifters are by nature criminals. If that were the case they would not have been able to safely come out in the open, as her premise suggests. So for me the premise is logically flawed.

I downloaded Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf as a free novella from Amazon. This was a fairly complete storyline, with excellent potential for a full length novel. It would have been nicer if the story contained more background for the characters as well as the pack.
