I was slightly nervous going into Angel Dreams. I had read Death Lies Between Us over a year ago and with so many books since then, I thought I’d have a hard time getting into the plot. This wasn’t the case at all. Actually, I feel like this book could be read as a standalone and a reader could easily get drawn into the paranormal plot.Nathaniel was my favorite character from the last book, so I was glad to see him back and in fine form (well at least most of the time). Honestly, his relationship with Jules turns me into a big pile of mush and I had a cheesy grin on my face during the times they’re relationship was “on.” They had a lot of drama thrown at them in this book, but overall I was happy with how things concluded.Jules is a good character. She’s funny and I liked how she was able to tap into her inner strength when faced with adversity. The plot of this book was a little darker than the first in the series, but I felt like there were enough lighter moments to not make the book too heavy of a read. The secondary characters were well developed and I liked most of them. I wasn’t a huge fan of shaman Chris. Just the way he spoke to Jules made me want to slap up side the head. In the beginning, he says something like “Stop being so naïve, woman!” He wasn’t on my good side from then on.I liked the pace a lot in this book. Book number one set up characterizations and provided background on the paranormal world Kessler has created. This paranormal world is expanded on in Angel Dreams in a very natural way.Overall, I’d recommend the book for readers of YA and adult paranormal romance. The romance part is very innocent, but I still like reading books where the romance is angsty with lots of longing looks and innocent hand holding.Rating: 5/5 Stars

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.“Angel Dreams” by Jody Kessler is the second book in the An Angel Falls series. The first book in the series, “Death Lies Between Us”, was a 2014 RomCom Readers’ Crown winner for Best Paranormal Romance...and yes, it is that good (at least in my opinion). This series is a little spookier than all of the other paranormal romance books I’ve read. It isn’t too spooky, though. I’m scared of my shadow and was fine reading it at night while everyone else was asleep. The books kept me on the edge of my seat with much anticipation about how things were going to work out. While they both leave you knowing that there is more to come, neither ends with a cliffhanger. In my opinion both books are way more paranormal than they are romance. If you are looking for a sexy-type book, this probably isn’t for you. But if you love suspenseful, paranormal stories with a more YA romance feel, you should give these a try. I really enjoyed both books and can’t wait for the next installment. I just hope I don’t have to wait as long for the next one.

Being an Angel of Death has to be hard, but Nathaniel Evans handles it famously. Well, that is, until the love of his life, Juliana, is put in danger. Talk about a bad day.Kessler has a way with letting you creep into her stories, slamming your head with situations that are unexpected, and then, the intensity sets in. If you like to have your heartstrings pulled while being on a rollercoaster of emotions, Kessler’s books are perfect for you.I think Nathaniel is my favorite character. Complete book boyfriend for sure.

Falling back into Nathaniel and Juliana's world was fun. After the twist thrown at him in book 1, Nathaniel has been given a new assignment and it's a doozy. Juliana being Juliana, she's compelled to help him when she realizes his charge is someone who once asked her for help. And that's when things get complicated.I like the budding relationship between Nathaniel and Juliana. I think his straightforward honesty confuses Juliana sometimes because she doesn't quite know how to respond to someone being so open about their feelings. They both seem to be on the same page, but I totally get why Juliana needed to slow things down a bit. Nathaniel's pretty intense and that could be overwhelming in ANY situation, much less when he's admitting how much she means to him. There's the potential for a love triangle that I'm iffy on (those aren't my favorite thing, just so you know) and I'm not sure I love how close-minded Chris is when it comes to Nathaniel and the other Angels. On the other hand, seeing as Chris has some preconceived notions about what Nathaniel is, I can also understand why he's continually warning her off. (To be fair, even Nathaniel's not sure if his presence is harming Juliana in some way, so Chris's warnings might be on target.)With plenty of danger, some terrifying moments with a demon or two, and the sweet, sometimes sad romance between Nathaniel and Juliana, this book hit the spot.-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

Jody A. Kessler does it again. This book is amazing. The demon possession gave me the willies, but it was still a great book. She makes it all so believable. At times I wanted to grab the characters out of the book and shake them while saying, “Don’t you see what is going on?” Her writing just makes me feel like I am a part of the story. The exorcism was written with such great detail and I found it to be so eerie. Jody writes with such passion that it truly show in her work. The characters are easy to relate too and her world is brought to life in living color through her words. I can’t wait to continue on this journey in book 3.Since Nathanial went against the rules he has a new job. Save a suicidal girl, but how? Her situation is dire and he has no idea how to proceed. Then Jules get involved and that is when all hell breaks loose. They must battle demons and find allies. The problem is, who should they trust? Jules learn more about her abilities and finds that she can do things she has never dreamed of.This love story seems to have never ending problems. It picks up directly where the last book left off and again Jules seems to get into some of the worst predicaments. But now the threat to her life is a demon wielding wizard. Unlike the last book Nathanial is now running headlong into danger himself with one goal, save Jules. Will their love survive this? Will they?

Couldn't put it down!I read, I read constantly, I always have something to read with me, and I usually read little bits from lots of different books simultaneously because with e-books you can carry around a bunch of books very easily. However, with this book, once I began reading, I didn't stop, and all other books were forgotten. I had it finished within 20 hours or so, and loved every minute of it.With some books, you kind of get an idea where the plot is going and how it is going to end. Not with this one. Every page has a new twist and turn and its surprise ending will knock your socks off. In addition, Jules' wry, sarcastic humor had me in belly laughs and Chris' taciturn tolerance of Jules' bumbling is laugh-out-loud funny. Then, when you add the budding romance between Jules and Nathaniel, and the dramatic ending (no spoilers here), you won't be able to wait for the next book in the series.

As their relationship deepens there is still much that Nate and Jules don't know about their relationship and Jules power. Now things have changed not only between them but since his assignment has changed. They face different dangers this time. Ones neither is prepared for. They both have to survive but what is the price of survival. As the story goes on and we learn more about these two and the depth of their commitment you can't help but become invested in their success as a couple and against the odds. Great story with loads of action and intrigue to keep you turning pages. These books can be read out of order, well I did but am glad I am now catching up.

Jody Kessler has done it again with another absorbing tale of angels working with humans to combat the darkness, set against the lush beauty of the Colorado mountains. ANGEL DREAMS is a great sequel packed with action, romantic tension and suspense. Her characters are complex and believable, even as they find themselves in totally incredible supernatural situations.Nineteen-year-old Juliana Crowson has unique abilities that even she doesn't fully understand. The fact that she can see see angels and spirits is only the start. Her boyfriend Nathaniel Evans is not only an angel, but an angel of death. Or rather, he was until botching his last assignment.Nathaniel has been reassigned to another division, and given the task of helping a scared girl with suicidal tendencies. But there is more to this girl's story than Nathaniel realizes and it drags both him and Juliana into a dark and twisted adventure.Nathaniel has his own inner conflicts to work through, but he is my favorite angel book hero boyfriend. I love that he has layers of emotion and self doubt, and his feelings for Juliana are also so complex and so sweet. Some secondary characters from the first book appear in this story, including the local native medicine man, Chris Abeyta, who is more fully fleshed out than he was in the first book, making him a real person with real feelings and motivations. One of the new characters we meet was so super evil he made my skin crawl, and I couldn't stop reading, wondering how in the world Juliana would defeat such a monster. While the plot and characters are not as straight forward as the first book, I enjoyed this quite a bit and can't wait for the third book in the series. Totally recommend this author and this series to fans of angel/demon paranormal romance!

At the conclusion of “Death Lies Between Us,” Nathaniel and Juliana were camping out under the stars following their adventure at Castle Hill, a haunted mansion occupied by even more dangerous humans. Juliana might have died in the house is not for Nathaniel’s interferance. Now she knows what he is, and he enjoys her company, he’s reluctant to tell her the exact nature of the failure that got him demoted as an Angel of Death. He was never there to guide her into the afterlife. Her brother was the client, and a new angel is following him now.Whereas the first book in this series was centered around unintended consequences, “Angel Dreams” delves more into the paranormal world surrounding Juliana, including angels, demons, witches, Native American shamen, and her own unique connection to the Earth. Ms. Kessler doesn’t shy away from the ugliness, representing the darkside of power with physical sickness and emotional pain. I very much appreciated Juliana’s strong spirit playing a critical role in both her actions and her survival of the consequences that follow.I do have a few issues with the story. First, I didn’t feel the Castle Hill story was neatly tied at the end of the first story, and I had expected that to be revisted. Other than a mention in the first chapter, this book doesn’t address it. And two, I find myself hoping that Juliana soon sees her shaman friend, Chris Abeyta, as more than her friend. No, he’s not quite the book boyfriend that Nathaniel is, however, Chris is flesh and blood 24/7, which I feel gives him the advantage.Angel Dreams does make up for it’s shortcomings with action and suspense. I’m looking forward to reading the next installment of the series.

Angel Dreams is actually the second book in the An Angel Falls series. While I have not read the first book, Death Lies Between Us, enough background information on events which had happened in the first was given in Angel Dreams so I was able to get a sense of what was going on quite easily. I really enjoyed this novel, and I'd like to go back and read this series in order. What really drew me in was the writing style. While I thought the book took a few chapters to pick up a little steam, once it did, I was completely sucked in and wanted to know what was going to happen next. As a whole, I thought it flowed well, and I grew to like the two main characters – Juliana (Jules) and Nathaniel. Both were well-developed and it was easy to empathize with Juliana especially. Of all the characters, she became my favorite. It is apparent she cares about her brother Jared, and that was on display several times in Angel Dreams. I also loved the paranormal romance elements with the relationship between Nathaniel, an Angel of Death, and Juliana, who has a heightened sense and can see things that others can't.Another element of the story I loved was the incorporation of Native American beliefs through the character of Chris Abeyta, and it didn't take long for him to become one of my favorite secondary characters. I also liked Marcus, another angel and Nathaniel's mentor, as well. While I caught a few grammatical errors here and there, it did not significantly detract from my enjoyment of the book. I'd recommend this book to those who enjoy paranormal romance with angels. My rating is 4/5 platypires.

I received an Advanced Reader's Copy of this ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review Okay. What can I say? I absolutelylovedit! I kinda have a thing for genres like fantasy and sci- fi and also if they have to do with angels or vampires. This book is a sequel toDeath Lies Between Uswhich is the first book in the series. So, in order to understand what happened you had to read that book first. These books don't take that long to read... I probably spent maybe at least two hours each day and I finished both books! This book is a GREAT read! I liked the change of viewpoints in the characters. This makes it so much more interesting to read and we can see a sorta of like a sneak peak of inside their minds and learning what the characters are thinking. I love when books do that because readers get to know two different perspectives. I love the characters Nathaniel and Juliana because I feel like they are real and not fictional characters. I think this would be a great book for fans of fantasy. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends. This is my second time reading a book by Jody A.Kessler and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future. If it wasn't clear enough this book deserves a 5 Star rating :)

I jumped right into this book without having read book one (which I'm DEFINITELY going to do) - I spent a week on my first vacation of the summer being swept away with Nathaniel and Jules. They were both incredibly well-written and strong characters with so many obstacles in their way, it's a small miracle every time they are together! The first 1-2 chapters were an ethereal world of love and then BAM - the author hits you with a dramatic scene that kept me picking up this book every day until the end. I will read more from this author!

*I received this book free in exchange for an honest review*I couldn't get into this book. I feel like I missed something. Maybe I should have read book 1, I don't know. But I really didn't understand where we were or what was going on. As the book progressed, a little of it cleared up. I could see this being an ok romance for YA, but it really held no interest for me. It was slow moving. I really disliked Juliana. I just couldn't connect with her at all. Maybe I should read the first book and I'll feel differently. We'll see.

I had the pleasure of reading the first book in the series and I must say it was stunning!! Juliana and Nathaniel's point of views and experiences collide in a gripping adventure. Good vs evil, love vs hate and everything in between is in this book. I love the angle the author took with this book too. I'm dying to read the second book! Highly recommended and applauded. This is Angel Dreams. I give it 5 stars.
