These empowered women pose in gorgeous outdoor California settings, baring for the vision of photographer Nikki Silver. Herself a hairy woman, Silver captures the free spirits and all-natural confidence of these amateur models. Her photos are erotic and feminist, revealing and defiant, and entirely unlike any nude portraits of women you have ever seen.An original essay from journalist and sexuality educator Tina Horn accentuates these provocative images. With humor, personal anecdotes, and elegant analysis, Horn's writing explores the many political and social implications of unshaven women. This insight is supplemented by thoughtful words on feminine body hair from the models themselves.Whether they are defying gender norms, rejecting consumer conformity, or developing a new kind of counter-culture body modification, the women of Unshaven may be the twenty-first century's post-modern heroines.Nikki Silver is a self-taught hairy pornography producer and model. Living a life of radical naturalism and free expression in both sexuality and art, she produces media that gives a voyeur's view into her world. A resident of Oakland, she is a feisty New York Jew who now refuses to leave the redwoods of California....

Unshaven: Modern Women, Natural Bodies Reviews
I was very pleased to get hold of a copy of UNSHAVEN. It is a wonderful, artistic book featuring strong, uninhibited women. Spearheaded by photographer (and model herself) Nikki Silver with a thought provoking forward by writer Tina Horn, UNSHAVEN puts the spotlight on something society is almost afraid to acknowledge... women who defy convention and do not shave their body hair. This isn't just a "left coast" thing or a "LGBT" thing. The essays by the models accompanying the photographs really cover the wide breath of reasons and feelings for their decision not to shave. It's quite refreshing to see and hear from these women, the pride they have in their bodies and convictions. The photos, over 100 in full color, are explicit but of a high quality and show great artistic eye by Ms. Silver. The all-natural look has started to be embraced by everyone from Cameron Diaz to Miley Cyrus. UNSHAVEN allows us all a chance to throw open that door and see the beautiful minds of these women at work. An ideal price (at $19.99) for this sturdy softcover make it a perfect introduction to their world.
Fully support this book and the message it promotes, great photos too.
Features interviews of women's first encounters with body altering and then their decisions to go natural, though some feature tats and piercings in their bare body photos. Insightful.
