"How far are you willing to go to fight for the love of your life?" - Books and Beyond Fifty Shades Rachel Baker has just finished a stressful and demanding semester. When the camping trip with her roommate's buddy turns out a nightmare, she meets Peter Shaw. He's a breathtakingly handsome guy and Rachel is immediately drawn towards him, but can she trust him? Peter Shaw is recovering from a painful breakup with his cheating ex. The last thing he needs it to babysit an irresponsible college student, even when she's as beautiful and sweet as Rachel is. He's fighting his attraction for her with all his power. But everything changes, when they're both trapped together in a small cabin in the middle of the wilderness. Neither of them can deny the fire they're feeling for each other. Back in the city, more challenges wait for them. Can they finally admit their love for each other? Can Peter's crazy ex-girlfriend ruin everything? +++ Q & A with the Author Q-This is a sexy romance set in California. The couple meets on a camping and climbing trip to Yosemite National Park. Why Yosemite? Why climbing? Isn’t that a rather unusual setting? A-I wanted the setting to be something unusual, to convey adventure and freedom. For me being in the nature is just that. Romantic. Pure. Down-to-Earth. But I wanted it to also show adventure and something unusual. That’s when a friend posted photos of his last climbing trip and I was hooked. The sheer beauty of the Yosemite National Park, the Half Dome, sunsets, thermal springs got to me. The breathtaking landscapes and the exercise of climbing (and the lean, muscular, good-looking, handsome guys) would make the perfect setting for Rachel and Peter to meet. Q- What challenges doe your characters have to overcome? A_ Well, Rachel is a new adult, just coming of age. She’s the typical college student. Studying , working and trying to find her place in the world. Throughout the series she grows into an empowered and independent young woman. Ready to tackle the world. While rich and wealthy Peter has to cope with a disastrous breakup, and too much work. He needs to trust in love again. Q-What writers have influenced you? A-Of course, Nora Roberts was one of the first ones I read. She’s the queen of romance. Then there are two independent New York Times Bestseller authors I truly admire. Bella Andre and Melissa Foster. I love how they write steamy, romantic novels full of love. True love. Their heroes are alpha males – the good ones. No bad boys, but the kind every mother would want to have as son-in-law. The women are empowered, independent and sexy. The books are great examples of women's fiction and continuing series. Family sagas at their finest. ...

After just finishing college Rachel agrees to go on a camping trip to do some climbing with her roommates friend Michael. Michael seems to have a crush on Rachel which she doesn't return. After arriving they meet some other college students and agree to hang out. Rachel has a bit too much to drink and passes out at the camp only to wake up and find out the next morning that Michael has ditched her since she had ignored him. Having no other choice Rachel asks the other campers for help. One of which is a very attractive man named Peter who has done nothing but give Rachel the cold shoulder. When it's time to pack up the only available way for Rachel to get home is to ride with Peter on his motorcycle but after what was supposed to be a quick stop at his family's cabin the two get trapped by a storm. I've rated this novella two stars simply because I made it all the way through and actually got a good chuckle out of it...unfortunately it's not meant to be funny. Rachel really came off as completely childish most of the time which made me really not like her much at all. Peter was also quite the jerk in the beginning and then when he got a bit more tolerable we bring in his psycho ex-girlfriend. The writing seemed a bit off throughout. Most of the time I'd guess Rachel to be a teenager from her dialogue and thoughts but occasionally you'd get something thrown in that seemed completely out of place. For instance she says she saw someone with a lighter then at the end of the explanation she's giving she says "I observed her!" I really don't think anyone talks like that so I had a good chuckle with the awkwardness of it. There also seemed to be a few typos here and there. Having really not liked the characters separately it was really hard to even want them to start a relationship. Then when other things happened I'm just wanting to scream run away from him, run as fast as you can. Overall, definitely not one I'd recommend.

5*****Rachel has the worst luck on a camping trip in the history of camping. Abandoned and alone a handsome stranger Peter helps her home. On their way back home they get stranded in his uncles cabin due to bad weather and mud slides. As feelings start to develop they decide its best to leave it alone. Since he is in business owning his company and headed to Spain in few short weeks and she is headed into an internship from college. Once home these two can't fight the attraction they have for one another. Only to discover Peter has a crazy ex Laura who trys to cause poor Rachel more harm than good. Of course Rachel had no idea she has fallen for the most eligible bachelor around, a business owner, wealthy, and handsome to boot. Laura has other plans though unable to walk away from Peter and let him be happy. Laura is a stalker right from the crazy ex handbook. Taunting and harrassing poor Peter, trying to drive Rachel away with her lies. However when Rachel and Peter stop fighting the sensations and desires and cave in to be with one another they find out they can work through almost anything. When the story ends off Peter is headed to Spain for business trip and Rachel makes plans to meet him soon after, while visiting her grandmother's family. Only to learn Laura will be leaving on the same flight as Peter and leaves Rachel concerned and angry. Jessica Grey brings life to this story with the compassion and suspense she added to Peter and Rachel's love story. A story filled with romantic notions and twisted stalkerism. I can't wait to see what happens to Rachel and Peter in book two.

Rachel finished with classes for the semester and wanted to do something exciting. Her roommates friend Michael offers to take her rope climbing. She agrees. First night there she sees a group of people with her college logo on their shirts, so she decides to hang out with them when she notices a hot guy named Peter. When she wakes up she realizes that she's not in her tent. When Peter is forced to take her to her tent she realizes that Michael left her. Peter just got over his psycho ex named Lara, and believes every woman is a liar and cheater. So when he's forced to take Rachel home they get stranded at his uncle's cabin. Great story. Need to read.

College student Rachel just wants to blow off steam after finals, so goes camping with her roommate’s friend. There she meets Gorgeous Guy. The two don’t get off to a good start—he thinks she’s just like his ex-girlfriend (a manipulative, selfish flirt) and she things he’s a rude jerk. On the way back from Yosemite, the two get stranded in the rain and take shelter in a cabin in the woods. Basically, the two get stuck in the woods and “couple up.” Very blasé and typical. Overall, this was short , slow, and uninteresting. And there are three books dedicated to these two? Oh, brother!

This is the first book in the falling for him series and definitely starts the series off with a bang. A total of eleven books in the series so this is more of a serial soap opera. Two people stranded in a secluded mountain again with an instant chemistry between. A sweet college romance between Rachael and Peter who met by chance. Not much character development and some steamy sex. I found this book free on Amazon and gave it a try.

I wasn't terribly thrilled with this book. The characters were ok, it was the grammar and use of English I couldn't get past. I didn't feel like I was reading an adult novel, but a fairy tale. It's just more personal preference, I guess. I liked to read as if someone is talking in front of me, not "for she had long golden locks" kinda thing. The characters' dialogue also felt fabricated instead of natural.

A Delightful tale. A college gal just finished her exams and she winds up in the mountains. But a mishap occurs and she is frightened out of her wits. A hero begins to emerge though, and mother nature takes it's course. Looking forward to the next chapter!

I had some hope for it, but the plot and dialogue were under developed. Crazy problems came up, but they aren't fleshed out. We also missed out on a lot of the courtship.
