This is an older book, but it caught my attention and I loved it! Three kids are orphaned after they lose their parents in a fire. The oldest sister, just 16, tries to raise her 13yr old sister and younger brother and baby sister on her own. I think I'm gonna find another book by this author.

Did not finish as was not an apt storyline as a young girl would not have been able to do what heroine was supposedly accomplishing in that time and place. Story was way too predictable. Free book from library so no loss.

I love this author and this book. It is set in Cochise County in Arizona. I lived there for 12 years, reading this book always takes me back to the desert.

Good story line but the author sounded a little like a poor little rich girl in some of events.
