I first read this back in Feb and while I found it a great and touching story it wasn't until later that it became more to me. Yesterday as I was once again thinking about scars and breast reconstruction, this story floated through my head and I was compelled to read it again. I've just finished it with tears in my eyes because it now is so much more personal. Just a few weeks after reading it the first time I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had a mastectomy, chemo, scarring ... you know all the fun stuff. We can read fiction, and it can touch us, but I think sometimes when it touches on shared scars it becomes more real and helps us feel not so alone. Thank you for that P.G. Forte

Well written and edited. No cliffhanger. It's hard to believe this is a novella, because this story really has it all. It's funny, achingly sad, scorching hot, and ultimately uplifting.I've never read a romance/erotic story with a breast cancer survivor before. I'm not a survivor myself, but I have several friends and family members that I've been through the journey with and the author really captured the vulnerability, uncertainty and the surrealism that builds after all the treatments are done and their job is waiting and figuring out what recovery means in their new life after cancer.Strongly recommend.

Very unusual premise for an erotic love story. Emotional and sexy, very well done.

Romancing The Book ReviewOriginal Review Published here: http://romancing-the-book.com/2014/04...Inked Memories by P.G. Forte was originally published in the anthology Midnight Ink. I really liked the message in the story that it does not matter what you look like its who you are that really matter.Sophie is a strong and resilient woman. She fought for her life and won her battle with breast cancer but it left her with visible scars. Sophie does what anyone trying to deal with the emotional and physical scars by trying to cover them but rather than get implants she wants a chest piece to cover the scars.Declan Ross is a famous tattoo artist with his own show to prove it. He is every bit the bad boy and one of her ex’s. Declan has been out of touch so long he never even knew she was sick. It throws him for a loop. The chemistry between Declan and Sophia is blistering. They light up the pages when they are together. Declan has a hard time dealing with the fact that he almost lost her, and seems determined to make the relationship a go. The sex was blazing hot. These two are made for each other.I found this book well written. The main and secondary characters were interesting and realistic. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future. I read this book in one sitting, because I had a hard time putting it down. Overall, this was a fabulous story.

*4.5 stars*I've said it before, but it bears repeating- P.G. Forte is one of those authors that everybody should know about. I've yet to read anything by her that I haven't loved and, in the case of Inked Memories, that's really saying something. Why? Because I don't usually read or enjoy novellas. There is just not enough time in the book to get to know and care about the characters or their relationships. That was not the case with this book. I loved Sophie and Declan. Their story, especially Sophie's, was really believable. Now, I've never had breast cancer, but I imagine I would have felt exactly like Sophie did. She lost her entire confidence as a woman when she lost her breasts and I felt like Forte really did a good job with her emotions. Everything she did, down to her crossed-arm posture, felt real. Then, there is Declan. He was awesome. He made a really hard situation into something beautiful and I loved him for that. He was also sexy as all get out. His support of Sophie and the way he was able to make her feel made me a big fan of this relationship. I hardly got to know them, but that didn't mean I wasn't rooting for them with everything I had. Well done, P.G. Well done.

When Pg Forte asked me to read and review her little novella called Inked Memories. I was excited. I love tattoo's and artist. What I didn't expect was the emotional rollercoaster I was agreeing to. Sophie Jane is a Breat Cancer survivor. She wants a tattoo to commerate and start a new beginning in her life. She gets set up with her old friend/celebrity artist Declan Ross. Declain was back in town temporarily and never expected to run into Sophie, let alone tattoo her again. But life has a way of blowing plans up in your face when you least expect it. 51 pages. In 51 simple, easy read pages, Pg Forte made me feel a multitude of emotions. I felt a connection to 2 characters stronger than I had felt in books that were 300 pages. With Sophie, I felt everything she felt. I would feel her nervousness, her terror, her fear, and the permanance she experienced. Pg Forte ripped me apart... with 51 pages. Even if your not a fann of tattoo stories, read this. The message encased in the novella is so much more than simply getting a tattoo. It's about acepting life's surprises and learnign to move on.

Wow, this story is my favorite in the Midnight Ink Anthology so far. Declan is a tattoo artist who has a past friends with benefits relationship with Sophie. His past just won't let him get closer, and eventually he leaves for the west coast and a new job there, not contacting Sophie for 5 years. He comes back for a benefit at Midnight Ink, and Sophie is a client. In the past 5 years, she has gone through breast cancer with a double mastectomy, getting a tattoo to help her self image. They reconnect. What I love about this story is that in a short 100 pages the author gets an incredible amount of emotion in there, but doesn't try to force a HEA. This is a HFN, with the note that no one is guaranteed a forever, something these two characters know so well. That fits his personality and the story; a HEA would not have been believable at all. Loved this story.

Sophie has battled with cancer and has the scars to prove it, when she sees a flyer for discounted rates for survivor and memorial ink at the tattoo shop Midnight Ink, she feels it's a sign to hide her scars. After learning that they were booked up for awhile she starts talking herself out of it until the gal says that she can get her in with the guest artist that is coming to town, Declan Ross, who happens to be an old fling Sophie had when he was living here. She agrees to the appointment excited to see Declan again, but this time around it's her that is the damaged one. Will they be able to pick up where they left off? Or will he take one look at her and not want anything to do with her?

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a great second chance romance and a beautiful story about how love can come from loss. Sophie has been through a life threatening traumatic experience and has lost her breasts due to breast cancer. She decides to get a memorial tattoo done in honor of her experience and ends up with Declan as her tattoo artist, who just happens to be a guy from her past. Declan is a famous tattoo artist who is currently in town doing charity work and didn't even have any idea Sophie was sick so he's floored by this discovery. This is a touching story about two people working to overcome their issues and I really enjoyed reading this.

This is not my first encounter with PG but it is the first time I cried while reading a story. This story was not just about two people rekindling a romance; it’s about overcoming losing apart of you. As a woman I can’t imagine losing my breasts so to read Sophie’s struggle, my heart cried for her. Declan has his one battle within himself that pulls at the heart strings as well. Reading the previous stories in the Anthology I was expecting a hot and steamy read but I was happily surprised to have my heart squeezed in the middle of this Anthro. Thank you PG.

I found this to be heartwarming story of a women named Sophie who had to deal with the after effects of having breast cancer. She was a very strong women who had a hard time dealing with the scars from the surgeries that changed her body from before the cancer and decides to get a tattoo to hide some of the scarring where she meets back up with Declan who is to be her tattoo artist. Over all, I found this book to be very well written with an underlying message of hope and that it really does not matter what you look like.

Another hit. Memorial tattoos are personal and obviously mean so much more than just the image they portray. Sophie underwent surgery for breast cancer. She had many scars both emotional and physical. You truly felt for her and Declan had issues of his own. As you read this, you come to really feel for the two of them and appreciate their romance as they try to make their relationship work. A wonderfully written story!

Inked memories is everything you want in a romance, a few misunderstandings, a few tears and a lot of hot sex scenes. This book delivers in it all in a gift wrapped as Sophie and Declan come back into each others lives. what was once a sexual friendship easily becomes more. Loss of a person or part of yourself is always difficult, and a memorial tattoo is so healing for so many. This book does deal with the subject of loss and recovery.

That was truly a delicious read. Sexy, kinky, romantic and so deeply moving. To nearly lose your life, to have to sacrifice your breasts to survive, that is hard for every woman. How she finds a way to feel beautiful again, to make that especially special, how he helps her, how they break down each others walls to get to the light behind - that was so compelling to read that I just couldn't stop. Loved this love story, it gives so much hope!

This was a really good story about friends with benefits that see each other after five years. A lot has happened to Sophie in the last five years and Declan is dealing with seeing Sophie and wanting to her to tell him everything. Is Declan willing to risk his heart and open up to Sophie to get her to open up to him?

I hated this story from the Midnight Ink colllection.Declan was such a selfish prick, and no, in the story's short span i did not see him change. I understoos Sophie's struggle, that's why it annoyed me that it seemed she was babying Declan. That boy needs to grow up.

Book 4/8, by P.G. Forte, a cool 3. I really enjoyed this book. The reason behind the tattoo, as well as bring two lovers back together even after being apart for so many years. It also stated that beauty is within us & not just the physical part.

This was an erotica with surprising depth and authenticity. I loved the complexity of the characters, and the obvious research the author has put into the finer details. Declan was hawt, and Sophie was loveable. Well crafted and professional.

Unfortunately another book that was just ok for me. I did not really like the characters and the idea of realizing you love someone after basically forgetting them for five years was just too much.
