This book was poetic and well written. It was also creative and original. I appreciated the depth of emotion and realistic internal conflict with which Georgia struggled throughout the story. The other characters remain shrouded in mystery, including Georgia's husband, which is vividly expressed through her first person discovery that he may not be the man she thought she new. If that didn't leave her on edge enough, she now has doubts about her best friend & her husband's personal assistant...both who seem pretty unsavory, in my opinion. Xavier is intriguing, yet he emanates a malevolent aura, which serves to both seduce Georgia and fill her with trepidation...On the one hand, Georgia made her own bed and gets little sympathy from me regarding the fallout of her indiscretions. On the other hand, she did not sleep with the guy...regardless of blame, the husband's and friend's behavior was baffling and unsettling at best.I was intrigued by the imagery and mystery created by the author, but not absorbed enough to want to read further along in the series. I found the book to be very slow and more descriptive than plot driven. Beautifully written though...
