An easy 4 stars for a different type of rock star romance. When Marissa attends a rock festival with her best friend Olivia, she knew the friends plans were to help her friend get over her ex by crawling in bed with a new man. But when Olivia leaves with the first roadie that catches her eye, Marissa finds herself in a situation that leads to meeting Jack Storm. Lead singer of Jackal. She had no idea who he is, but there is an instant attraction that leads to a couple of romps before they part.It isn't until five years passes that a situation arises that requires her to reach out to him. Seeking help and in turn revealing the secret that kept her from accepting his invitation years ago to see him again. Although the secret is not a hard one to guess, I'll let you discover that on your own. With Marissa and Jack forced back into each others lives, the connection they shared that one afternoon is still there. But there is far too many issues with what she never told him and issues with communication that leave these two constantly getting their signals crossed.Jack Who? turned out to be an unexpected surprise. I had this downloaded, but yet I couldn't figure out just where I got it from. So I thought, what the hell. Let's give this one a go. It was a very cute romance and although a bit predictable with the "secret" was still a great romance. It didn't have the angst that comes with some rock star books, although I think that might come with book two. The story sticks close to Marissa's home - away from the glam of LA and the doubts that will surely be part of the lifestyle she is going to have to eventually see first hand. Jack was a complete sweetie-pie and never really gives you any concerns over what kind of guy he was. And although Marissa seemed to be focused on playing games to get what she wanted, she didn't seem to hang on to those notions for too long after seeing first hand that this just made things far more complex. The only issue I found was a bit in the transitions between scenes. There were moments that didn't flow into the other, that caused me to pause and go back to read the prior few lines to see if I missed something. Drifting from thoughts to actions it was hard to make that leap in certain points, but it wasn't so much to deter from the story. I look forward to seeing what happens in the next book.

When I first 'picked up' Jack Who, I expected to enjoy it. But boy oh boy I didn't know how much I would enjoy it. To start out, who doesn't love a story about a sexy rock star! Within my first reading session, I squealed aloud like a teenager, got goosebumps, and felt tears in my eyes. I love it when a books starts out like that! Also within the first reading session I fell madly in love with Jack and Marissa and just when I thought I knew what would happen the author surprised me. I love it when that happens!Truthfully I think this story is one that every teenaged girl dreams about. Falling in love with a rock star!!! Okay, I'm not 100 % sure other girls feel this way, but I know I sure did! I wanted to grow up to be a rock star's lover. And you know, I got to live that dream through this book. Great writing, awesome character development and a tremendous story come together in a book that I will never forget. And as I get older and want to experience some nostalgia I can go back and read Jack Who and relive my teen years.

Jack Who? on Kindle SelectviewBook.at/JackWhoTrailer:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6-hBp...190 Pages70,000 word NovelTrivia: Jack Who? began as a short story on wattpad written as an entry to a contest sponsored by one of my favorite authors on the site. The story shot to #1 and stayed in the top ten from the first day on through the next month. Readers begged more Jack and Marissa and a full fledged novel was born. I loved writing this book on wattpad. It was like a party as each chapter went up. There would be guesses about what these two crazy characters would do next, and ideas would take shape for the next chapter. The input from readers chapter to chapter was invaluable. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart to these thousands of beta readers and I hope every reader is just as enthused :)Alternate hard rock trailer as requested!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zrWtg...

I think I can honestly say I have never read a romance novel based around rock stars and I am kicking myself for not doing so sooner. Jack Who was a fantastic read from beginning to end, I loved Marissa and Jack, their story was very heart warming and Tristan was so adorable, I especially enjoyed Jack's scenes with Tristan, they pulled at my heartstrings in a good way. Marissa was a great main character, she had her flaws, especially when it came to Jack Storm, but she learns to deal with her insecurities with some help from the gorgeous rock star and her loving family and friends.Lisa has written an amazing novel and I am keen to start reading the next book so I can continue Jack and Marissa's journey. For all those out there who are looking for a Rock star in their life, Jack Storm is just the man for you! I would definitely recommend this to everyone I know.

This was such an unexpected surprise read for me. I absolutely fell in love with Jack, Marissa, and sweet little Tristan. Such a great great story. I love how Jack immediately felt a connection to Tristian the first time he laid eyes on him in the hospital. I think Jack truly knows that Marissa was not after his money or fame only. Which I'm so glad she is so humble. She is such a great mother too. I love how Tristian and Jack instantly hit it off. I want them so badly to get their happily ever after as a family. Cannot wait to read the next book. Such a heartfelt story. Highly highly recommended!

Jack Who?: Perfect Storms (Silver Strings G, #1) by Lisa Gillis is an exceptional romantic novel full or even bursting with passion in every delicious chapter. The author has mastered this well overdone genre and given it a firm kick in the pants lingerie-wise and come up with a superb winner. I so loved this book with its well-written dialog, catchy theme of girl meets rock star, lusts for rock star, beds rock star then ....Marissa falls head over high heels in lust for Jack St .... who? Almost gave that away. But she doesn't know how to handle a major babe attractor especially a megastar rocker. As will often happen the affair fizzles out .... or does it. The story spans five years without dragging its heels once and will keep the reader glued to every sexy page. The author adeptly twists and turns and uses every trick in her book to make the reader's heart flutter, sigh, cry and scream with delight in this delectable offering. So what are you waiting for. Go read it now!A FIVE STAR romantic novel and highly recommended.

Oh, where to start with this book. I adore this author anyways, and was excited to delve into her first published work! I was not disappointed. I don't read rock star type romances often, but must confess I secretly love them. This book was curious from the start and I honestly was unsure how I would feel about it. I could not deny that Jack Storm and Marissa Duplei's first steamy encounter in the first chapter pulled me in, but when suddenly a chapter or two later, (and 5 years in story time) there is a child involved I was like -woah! How do I feel about this? My personal preference when reading romance is I am not a fan of pregnancy, and such, but Lisa Gillis has me turning over a new leaf. I loved the adorable Tristan! Who's perfect mixture of unavoidable childlike persona, and surprisingly adorable adult understanding was just so wonderful. Not to mention his interactions with his "momma" and "new friend" Jack.I enjoyed the main character Marissa who never wilted, or faltered in her struggles but was strong from the beginning to end. I like that ... a lot! She had her frantic moments, but she still felt so solid. Even when she met Jack Storm, to dealing with her pregnancy, and being a fantastic Mom, and also a wonderful match for her rock star infatuation ;) Though, her constant dieting habits had me squirming. Marissa would be mentioning calorie counts in ice cream WHILE I WAS EATING ICE CREAM AND READING ...none the less, I still just wished it was Jack Storm bringing me a pint ;)Jack Storm, I wanted more of him, but this is a good thing! He intrigued me from the start, and all I ever wanted was to get inside his had, and maybe his pants *shrugs* haha. I was surprised to find him so kind and caring. But my most favorite part was his calculated observing. He seemed to do everything with purpose, even when he didn't necessarily know what to do.I loved Jack and Marissa’s interactions. A moment never seemed wasted and I felt like I was stumbling through it all with them. Jack seemed like an enigma from the start, but I really fell for the fact that Marissa felt connected to him all that time, even if she was truly just starting to get to know him. Not only did they have to get to know each other, but they had to come together as parents. Finding the balance did not come easy, and defenses were up on both ends while mixing that with their intense attraction to one another. The journey as a reader was fun to be apart of! Their steamy scenes weren’t lacking either, and I have to admit I could have had a bit more. Haha. Now, last, but definitely not least. I absolutely adored Jack insistence with getting to know his son and wanting to be involved. I don’t know how the author did it but his supreme confidence, and open vulnerability with getting used to the idea of being a father was just *swoon* wonderful.I really loved this book from start to finish, and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 “Weathering Jack Storm”, which is available now. Now, go read this book now! You won’t be disappointed! 5 out of 5!(read other book reviews on www.authorarosa.com)

REFRESHING!This was such a refreshing story! I fell hard and fast for Jack. With some of the things he said, you can't help but to love him. "I don't know why l say the shit I do sometimes. I don't know that guy either. Unfortunately, I have to live with his screw ups. I don't want you to be one of those things I screwed up."And:"I'm asking with you want to get married one day. Because I know I want to marry you. But we need to build a relationship. And, your proposal should be spectacular. So this is not it."Don't that just make you swoon!Lisa Gillis has a refreshing writing style. It didn't take me long to find the rhythm of this book. They were times when I thought she was going back and forth between first and third person, but I was never once confused. One more of my reading hick ups, or maybe her writing is just that strong. I'm not sure. I just know is that I love this book."The kiss he laid on her was caring, tender, and forgiving, and the kiss she gave back was convincing, trusting, and fiery with love."I liked how she let the emotions play out. They both were on shaky ground. Neither one sure of how the other was feeling you see and feel their suspicions and their hopes. If it wasn't for my tired eyes, I would have finished this book in one setting. As it was, it took me about three hours to finish book one, but that's three hours I didn't have for book two. Now that I know there's a book three, well, y'all know what I'm doing for the next few days. Take care...

This was a super easy fun read. I am excited to see where the rest of the series brings this story. I am pretty sure I fell in love with Jack and Marissa by chapter 2. They are both feisty and passionate and say what they think. The writing was fantastic and the author truly made me feel like I was watching the story play out in a movie. I loved all the descriptions! To me, the story was pretty predictable. However, who doesn't love a great love story with a happily ever after??Jack Who? possesses a lot of emotions; lust, chemistry, love, and confusion. To me, it was the perfect mix. Book two in this series is currently available and as soon as I have some down time I plan on reading. This was my first time reading a Lisa Gillis story and I seriously loved it :)

"Jack Who? (Silver Strings Series G)" by Lisa Gillia is a great romantic read about a rock star and 'regular' woman.Meeting under unusual circumstances the two have a one night stand but they loose touch. Years later they have business to sort out between them. The complexities of fame, the real person behind a rockstar image and the possibility of true love are themes that Gillis plays out well in this enjoyable and fast paced story. The book is an easy read and has some great characters, an all round winner for fans of the genre.

I have to say I was surprised at how well I liked this. This is a new to me author and WOW can she write. I was hooked right at the beginning and read until it ended *insert sad face*. But the good news is she has another book, a continuation of the lives of Jack and Marisa. LOVE IT! It is like visiting old friends, can not wait to read it. You will not be disappointed, maybe a little angry at times wishing they would just TALK to each other already!

At first, this book started out good. I was into it. But then the deeper I got into it, the more of a mess it became. We start off with Marissa being a good girl who just went through a break up and sleeps with Jack within 10 minutes of meeting him. I can deal. Then she gets pregnant and 5 years later need money for her sons operation. So, here's where it went down hill this girl is obsessed with looking good, the amount of specific food talk was too much! Even the kid comments on it. She does this all thinking about one day seeing Jack again and making a family. She has turned in to a serial one night stander looking for a connection with fandoms. Like really? Aren't you all obsessed with a jack still? Then she sees Jack again and she's plotting to make him jealous and love her again all while her son is in the hospital recuperating. I mean shouldn't that be more important than internet stalking his dad?! And ben jack is so in love with her, that he doesn't care that she kept his son from her for 5 years! He's was like ok cool can we have sex now? Nope. Nope. Nope. Not for me. Not realistic. Too corny.

The perfect fix for the craving I was having for a good rockstar romance! Imminently more satisfying than the first one I chose last night. I am looking forward to delving further into this series in the very near future. To me, this one pretty well has it all. Gorgeous rocker stud, sweet, insecure young girl. Ooops, the hookup led to a pregnancy and letting him know is not what she thinks he would want to hear. Fast forward 5 years and her little reminder of her romp on the wildside is in need of expensive surgery and she finally decides it is time for him to know he can add "Daddy" to his guitar strap. Her love for her son, her insecurities, her fantasies about her famous one night stand are all so real and powerful. The author does a fantastic job of portraying all of Marissa's emotions.Yes, it is all wrapped up eventually in a HEA situation, and what a fun ride it is to get there. If you can't fall in love with Tristan, you have no heart. This is just an oh so sweet story all the way around. Lighter on the smut than I would usually seek in this type of story, but I got so wrapped up in the entire plot that it didn't bother me in the slightest.I am so excited to know that this is a series and already more are available. I can't extend this review any longer because I am anxious to move onto the next one.

Let me say I loved this book. I am sad that I finished it so soon. Thankfully I can read the next book as soon as I buy it.Alright back to my review. This was a sweet love story. I loved that their romance started as nothing more than a hook up. It shows the whole love comes in unexpected ways scenario. I loved this book because Marissa is a character I can relate to. She had a bad break up and moved on with her life then she had a random hook up with someone who ended up changing her whole life. I mean the secret which was…. I’m not telling you’re going to have to read the book to find out. The secret was a good secret though. I love who jack is as a character. He reminds me of my best guy friend care free and young at heart. This books characters were amazing. I loved every moment of reading this book. I recommend this book for anyone who is a romantic at heart.I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Jack Who? kept me up all night! I just downloaded this literary gem yesterday. I only meant to read a few pages to get the flavor of the story and ended up devouring the whole thing. This rockin’ romance was an easy read that drew me in from the first word and locked me in until the last. It takes a ton of hard work and talent to tell a story this smoothly and seamlessly. Throw in a cast of colorful characters, a thrilling hero, a relatable heroine, intense desire, palpable attraction and just the right amount of conflict, and you have a blissful reading experience. Jack Who? is a romance readers dream come true! By the way, this was my first rock star romance, but it won’t be my last. I’m off to buy the rest of the books in this series right now!

What i like about this book is that it is real, complete with kid being a kid and a dog to trip over. I LOVE the real dialogue. These two interrupt each others sentences in a fight, they trail off as they are trying to say something but can't find the words. And the same with the scenes. So much like real life. Marissa might be in the middle of a thought and that reminds her of another thought, or the doorbell rings or her son needs to get out of the tub. 5 stars for putting the real in rockstar Lisa Gillis!

So much more than I anticipated! The first of the G-string series intrigued me, since I'm also writing about celebrity and rock stars. The synopsis was enough to make me buy Jack Who?, but I fell into a highly original storyline within the first few pages and am now halfway through the second book!Jack's character shows how rock stars are forced to be a little schizo, even if they're basically nice guys. And Marissa has had to grow up quickly and take care of her five-year-old, which means not exposing him to Jack's world too much.

A sweet romance about second chance love. Characters nicely drawn - not a lot of depth, particularly with Jack, but still well done. No real heat. I liked the development of the relationship between Jack and Mariss but occasionally the pacing a little jumpy. I had some difficulty connecting with Jack but perhaps that will change after reading the next book in the series. All in all, I enjoyed it.

Great story! Characters came across as very real. Despite Jack's fame, he is still a down-to-earth rocker with a heart of gold. Marissa is a strong relatable leading lady. Great chemistry between the couple. I loved the development of the bond between Jack and Tristan. While there was a bit of angst leading into the outcome, ultimately the ending put a smile on my face! Definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Highly recommended for lovers of a Rock Star Romance.

Cercando altrove, naturalmente!

I remember when I first read this book back in October 2013 and I fell in love with it. So, when I decided to give it a re-read, I was a little worried that it wasn't going to be as good as I remembered. Needless to say, it was just as good, if not better than I remembered. I do really enjoy the Rock Star genre and this series is pretty high up on my favorites list. This book will be told through the third person POV of Marissa, our female lead. The beginning of Jack Who? finds our female lead, Marissa, and her BFF, Olivia, at a rock festival. This isn't really Marissa's speed, but Olivia is dying to get backstage so she can meet some rock gods. Somehow Marissa and Olivia get separated and instead of Marissa searching for the debauchery that Olivia is sure to find, she comes across a dog. Yes, a dog. The owner of the dog is no other than Jack Storm, the lead singer for Jackal. I should go ahead and point out that while the world may know who Jack Storm and Jackal is, Marissa does not fall into that particular category.Let's cut to the good stuff. Once in Jack's trailer, quips get exchanged, consent form gets signed, and sex gets had. One would think that this is just a one time thing, but they do exchange phone numbers, however, several months down the road and Marissa finds herself expecting a child, Jack's child to be exact. In her mind it is best to not say a word to her baby daddy and when he texts her and asks her to fly out to L.A. to visit, she kinda has to give him the ole' blow off, which pisses Jack off and in turn, cutting off all contact between the two. Fast forward 5 years and she is left with no choice but to make an attempt to contact Jack. Their son, Tristan, is in need of surgery and Marissa is in need of money. After some back and forth, surgery day has arrived and so has Jack, much to the shock of Marissa. Well, really to the shock of everyone, because Marissa never disclosed the identity of Tristan's father, not even to Olivia.Even though their was an order for Marissa to get a DNA test, once Jack lays eyes on Tristan, he knows without a doubt that he is now a father. At this point, the majority of the remainder of the book is really focusing on Jack and Tristan developing a relationship as well as, Marissa and Jack trying to rekindle what they felt between them five years earlier. There are so many great things about this book, where to begin? First, is Tristan. He is so wonderfully written. He is witty, funny, smart, and not at all hindered by his disability. Then of course, there is his relationship with those around him. He is very inviting to Jack and vice versa. I mean, it can't be an easy day when you meet your son that you didn't know about for five years, but he handles it very well. And while you know that Jack is a rock star, his only focus is really getting to know his son and Marissa. The supporting cast of characters here are really, really in the background here and this is one time that I am perfectly okay with it. I think that this is one of those storylines that needs to put all of the energy into the main characters. That's not to say that there isn't any focus on the secondary cast, there is, it's just not in your face. What would a Rock Star romance be like without discussing the sex? The sex that is written is spicy enough, but like the supporting characters, it isn't one of the focal points of Jack Who?, it is part of it though, and I do wish there was a little bit more sinning. Having said that, the times that Marissa and Jack tangle up, it is in rock star fashion. This is a pretty quick read, it's only 266 pages and it will certainly captivate you and keep the pages turning. I have read the next two books in this series and as a whole, this is a fantastic series. Like I said, it is one of my favorite Rock Star series and if this is your genre, even if it's not, give it a go.For more reviews, visit: www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

    |Amazon|Goodreads|4 Stars Amy's Review: This was a super easy fun read. I am excited to see where the rest of the series brings this story.I am pretty sure I fell in love with Jack and Marissa by chapter 2. This was my first time reading a Lisa Gillis story and I seriously loved it :)------ Synopsis: Marissa is a craps dealer, and in one quick second that she never wants to remember, her life turns to crap. Her best friend convinces her that the cure for a breakup is a hookup, and reluctantly, she heeds this advice. However, Jack (what was his name again?) is not the average girl's revenge sex.Jack is a celebrity in his niche of the music world. Women throw themselves at him, toss their lingerie on the stage, and scream his name. Marissa has no idea of his public identity, and while she does not initially throw herself at him, she does go on to toss aside her lingerie and ultimately scream his name.Five minutes after parting, Marissa holds no illusions about seeing him again, but does vow a new outlook on her life and herself.Five days later, they exchange a very short text.Five months later, Jack astounds her with an invitation to Los Angeles. Although Jack is now a star in her very non rock star fantasies, Marissa is concealing a huge secret that prevents her from accepting.Five years later, the secret comes out and despite the conflicting emotions each feels towards the another, they must meld their two worlds together.

Rockin' Romance.Author Lisa Gillis knows how to write romance. This story revolves around Marissa, a woman who caught her boyfriend cheating on her, and Jack, a sexy musician.Marissa wants revenge against her boyfriend and is looking for a hookup. She encounters Jack, and she gets much more than she expected.I enjoyed the characters and the situations the author put them in. The book was a pleasure to read, and I look forward to enjoying more books by this talented writer.
