For a debut novel, this was well written with characters that came across as believable. It's a romantic suspense with emphasis on the suspense.Ellie Quinn is a psychologist starting a new job. One of her first clients is a battered woman that Ellie convinces to leave her husband. Ultimately this leads to Ellie being the target of a serial killer. The author did a credible job of describing the worst parts of domestic violence. Two men find Ellie attractive ... one is an ex-cop, the other is a Russian surgeon. And one of them is not who she thinks they are.The reader is told fairly quickly into the story who the killer is. For me, the better part of a mystery is trying to follow the clues, rather than being told. It takes some of the energy out of the story. The writing was done well enough that I would be happy to read another of her books should there be more coming in the future. My thanks for the review copy. I am happy to share an honest and unbiased opinion.3.5 Stars

Reviewed by JulieBook provided by the publisherOriginally posted at Romancing the BookThis is an enjoyable read, but it just fell flat for me. It needs something… perhaps a bit more suspense in regards to the two men in Ellie’s life and maybe it would have helped if the killer had been kept a secret. Sometimes it works out well when we know who the killer is and the suspense results from knowing something the characters in the book do not . However, in this case the characters and the reader knows who is behind the threats. This made the book too predictable and a little dull. There was some action mixed in here and there and Ellie’s brother and his new girl were in more danger it seems than Ellie. I did like how the author included the routine of a hospital psychologist into the story and also touched on the horrors of domestic abuse. The story line with Owen was also an interesting twist but I had suspected there was something more to the story than what met the eye, so his back story was a little anti-climactic.Being a “Blush” title the romance is PG rated, which is fine with me especially since the focus of the book was on the crime drama, but the romantic elements were sweet and tender and I liked Ellie with Dr. K.It is my understanding that this is the first full length novel by this author and as such I believe she did a good job of pacing and keeping out the information dump . I think the plot just needed a little pizzazz. Overall not a bad job for a first novel. I love romantic suspense and I did enjoy the characters. This author has great potential and I will certainly be watching out for her books in the future.

This is my first time in reading this author and I think this is a fabulous discovery. She puts all the right ingredients in a suspense filled romance that a reader like me craves. Her characters are dynamic having you following them around big time. Ellie is new but jumping right in there. Thing though is she also meets two gentlemen that are scrumptious on the eyes- Dr. Dmitri and Chief Mata. She also has a wonderful office person named Lee. You also are introduced to family with a brother that comes to stay when the going gets hairy. Josh will be a squeezable character himself. She will also land herself into one big dilemma that will put her in grave danger but also get the focus on a serial killer once again. toe curling suspense will come your way but also she will have a decision between two who would like to woo her. She will begin to make a choice but sometimes it will also kinda hang in the balance at first until her decision is clear. She is also a strong alpha type female which is good in this one. With the intense moments and mixture of romance also I was quite satisfied with this selection with wanting to read more from her.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. I thought this was an intense, suspenseful storyline with great characters. This is well written and you will be caught up in the drama from the very first chapter. Ellie is one tough cookie, smart, strong and has some interesting hobbies. Her brother Josh is awesome, he adds humor and tough love to the already intriguing plot. We have two love interests, the sexy Russian Dr. K and the Hospital security chief Owen. Both play important roles and add to the unexpected twists and turns. The storyline flowed easily, kept your attention, made you laugh and cry. At the same time it made you angry, disgusted, confused and ready to go after the bad guys yourself. Not many stories hit all the emotions at one sitting but this one really does. The situations were life like, the technical jargon was spot on and the events were portrayed realistically. I enjoyed this book immensely and would recommend to anyone who loves a good romance/suspense.

Ellie Quinn is a psychologist starting a new job in a new city. Focused on settling in at the Savannah hospital, the last thing she expects is to run into someone like the sexy Dr. K on her first day of work. She is immediately intrigued by the Russian doctor and hopes she has the chance to get to know him better. Dmitri, a.k.a. “Dr. K”, is a divorced father of two who is very open to the possibility of a relationship with the new doctor. In Ellie he sees a smart, pretty, kind woman – the first to catch his eye in a long time. He is a successful surgeon, a nice man, and smoking hot – definitely the object of fascination for many ladies in the hospital. Full review here.

Her brother comes to stay with her so she is never alone. Smolder was an awesome book! It was so intense at moments and at others it made me laugh so hard. I really enjoyed reading it and will definitely check out this author for more books. It was really well written and had a great style. Ellie is a psychologist who just started a new job in Savannah. She convinces a woman to leave her abusive husband on her first day and the husband is after Ellie. When he gets arrested, the police discover he was a well known serial killer, but the threats don't stop. Ex-Cop Owen and a surgeon at the hospital, Dmitri, take it as their mission to protect Ellie, and woo her in the process.

SmolderBy Graylin FoxReviewed by Jaime KurpWhat to read about a doctor who has two men that want her? Or that this doctor has a psychopath that wants to kill her? To find the answers you will have to read this story and you won’t be disappointed.I really enjoyed reading this story. I wasn’t sure about the two guys going after the doctor. But I felt like she made the right choice. And as for the psychopath killer, there is a nice twist that I wasn’t expecting. This is a must read if you like a little romance with some mystery/murder.
