Okay, This may have some spoilers! The Seekers takes place in New Orleans with Clare, Alex, Daniel, Jackson and Margret. Daniel is infiltrating a group of seekers in order to gain some insight of what Marcus wants with Clare. Meanwhile, Clare, Alex, Jackson and Margret get separate without knowing whether or not each other is alive. And then we are left with a cliffhanger (what's a good book without a cliffhanger!) This book made me fall in love with the series even more! The reasons for that, I think, are 1) The characters are just fantastic and relatable (for example, When Alex followed them to New Orleans. I can say that if I was in the same situation as her, I would have definitely followed too. Another example would be every time Clare reacted to the situation, like when Spider was being beaten). 2) I have found that in this series I cannot guess the plot! And I LOVE that! And 3) The books leave you think about them when they are over... A sign of a good book!Another thing I like about this series, is that there are so many different directions it can go. I love that. It is so rare to find a book like that, that keeps you on your toes. The next book is The Saints, and I can't wait!On a side note- Spider was awesome!

The Seekers continues to introduce us to the world of Watchers and Seekers, this time taking place in New Orleans a hotbed of activity. Lynnie Purcell did an excellent job of bringing new characters into the story without pulling away from the original ones. It was nice to be introduced to more Watchers and Seekers and get a feel for the different powers, opinions and motivations of the different groups. When Claire and Alex ended up on their own it was lovely to see them take care of themselves and keep investigating, instead of falling apart and becoming unable to function. The way they interact with and care for each other is perfect. My only problem with The Seekers was Claire's attitude towards Daniel in the last 1/4 or so of the book. Despite her experiences with him, including being in his memories, she more than happily believes what Serenity tells her. She even takes the time to tell Serenity that she knows Serenity plays games and that she has no time for them yet she happily walks right into one. For someone who is wary of Seekers she seemed pretty eager to believe what she was being told by one that was essentially a stranger and that she disliked. The Seekers was a good book. If it wasn't for my personal reaction to Claire for the last bit of the book I would have given it a higher rating. Anyone giving it 4 or 5 stars isn't lying to you. It's an excellent read that brought in more likeable characters and started showing us even more danger in this world.

*SPOILER ALERT!!!!!*I loved the 1st book of this series, 'The Watchers', because of the relationships formed. The first time I read through this book, I was disappointed that there was no Daniel-Clare teamwork. I thought it too away from the storytelling. I am now ready to admit that I was wrong. The events taking place in this story are very necessary for Clare. She needed this time away from Daniel to discover who she can be without her support system... without a real home and money for necessities. She also needed to realize that she can let others in... to trust, to love, to build a 'family.'Clare's relationship with Alex is tested, just as her allegiance to Spider is tested when she is betrayed. Even her relationship with Daniel is uncertain because she learns that the initial basis for their friendship was a lie.Everything and everyone Clare holds dear are severed from her, and she is in danger of being caught by Marcus or sold into Lorian's side of the war. The ending is shocking and one heck of a cliffhanger. If you don't like the book on your first read, read it again with an eye for what I've written. You will find it to be a really good read. I recommend this book and The Watchers series.

Great sequel! Lots of action and different, likable characters. Different setting than The Watchers. That just makes it even better, because the locations are changing with each book it seems.Clare, Daniel, Alex, Jackson, and Margaret set off to New Orleans for answers as to why Marcus is so hell bent on acquiring Clare. Things don't go as planned, and it seems that Clare just keeps making stupid decisions. In her defense, at the time of those decisions, they seem like the right thing to do. Alex, gets highly upset and it forces the change she's been trying to hold back since it first happened.I don't do spoilers, so you'll just have to read the book to find out what happens throughout. As I said before, lots of action and lots of new characters. Worth the read, especially if you've read the first book, The Watchers.

This is the second book in the watchers series. Clare who knows a lot more about the world of half-angels, the war, she finds out more about the seekers and her power. She wants to know why Marcus goes through such lengths to capture her. Whats so important about her? She goes to New Orleans on a mission and wont stop until she succeeds. This book was full of action and details. I could picture a lot of the scenes on my head. It is like a mystery in some way. She is trying to solve the mystery. In the process, discovers some truths, she never would have known.

Clare is able to finagle her way into accompanying Daniel, Margaret and Jackson to New Orleans in search of answers as to why she is being sought after by Marcus. They find once they arrive that they have been followed by Alex who now becomes part of the search team. A great read that keeps you page turning to see what the next discovery will unfold. The pages fly by until you realize you're on the last page and....NOOOOOOOOO!!!! You're left with Clare having been abducted and enroute to LA. The hook is set and I'm dashing to find book 3. Definitely a series that is well worth the read.

This book took me a little longer to read mainly because I was so busy these past few days. I probably would have read it in 2 or 3 days. There were some parts that I had to re-read, especially in the beginning, because it was a little boring. After a little while it got real interesting and we met lots of new characters. Spider is definitely my favorite and Eli I am still trying to figure it. I did enjoy this book, so much that I didn't even realize it was finished until I couldn't read further lol

It took me a while to get into book two, as it seemed to drag for the first half. However, once you reach the end, you realize it was necessary. There's a lot of character growth here, the day to day details of Clare and Alex's 'adventure' build to set in motion a huge shift in several characters personalities. Don't give up reading this, it's worth it.

This book was greatThis book was greatI loved reading this book, I could not put it done. I love books like this one. the character s became real to me. I picked this book because I like the supernatural, mystery, and the fact that I was surprised at every page I turned instead of knowing how it ended before the first chapter. Thank you...

My actual rating was 3.5 stars. It was not as good as the first book, but there was progression in the storyline that kept me entertained and reading. The characters are really well defined and make the story.

I enjoyed the first book. I wanted to like this book and it started out well. For me, half way through the book it started to feel less like a second book and more like just a means to get to the third book.

Lynnie Purcell has a wonderful skill for bringing out the darker side of humanity. Her characters have deep emotions and you can't help but get drawn into their feelings and struggles.
