Back in the day, she blended into the background, content to watch from the sidelines while Grayson Pierce soaked up the spotlight. Content until he broke her heart. Bitter, hurt and angry Jane did the college thing, came out of her shell, and never looked back. Grayson loves baseball. It was his pastime in high school, his passion in college, and now … his career. However baseball isn’t the only thing in Grayson’s heart. The problem is that Grayson has the reputation as a bad-boy. He likes fast cars and loose women and expensive liquor. All things that make him deplorable in Jane’s eyes, throw in his hot and cold attitude and she is ready to scream. When the promise of an exclusive interview brings a very reluctant Jane to Grayson’s home, she realizes that not everything is as it appears. “Author Morgan Kearns does it again … In It To Win It will fast become a ‘keeper book’ for any romance reader.” –Kari Thomas, author of Spell-Kissed...

http://www.romancenoveljunkies.com /for readers & book lovers.BRIEF SUMMARYJane knew Grayson most of her life, most of it throughout her awkward stages back in high school. She isn't too fond of seeing him again because of their past, but she needs to interview him for her job as a sportscaster. Grayson is the superstar baseball player bad boy. He plans to reconnect with Jane.THOUGHTSIf sweet and romance had a baby, this book would be the finished product. Personally, this book was so so so sweet and romantic that you wouldn't expect that from a sexy cover. When I read the product preview I already had an idea in my head what the story will be, but it definitely took an exciting turn that I enjoyed. Grayson is officially in my top 10 romance book hunks. He was so vulnerable that it made him seem sexy. Jane was enjoyable to read, she had some high and low emotions that drove Grayson a little crazy at times. The first chapter definitely gets your attention; thereafter, their progress throughout the book was that of a cat and mouse game because of an unfinished past. The second half of the book definitely had an interesting twist with a demented character, this added to the excitement of the read. There were so many lovable characters that the author gave us that you can't help but fall in love with them; Nate, Grayson's mom and a few more. However, Xavier, what a nice piece of raw meat, he is Grayson's teammate and needs his own story A.S.A.P.I have so my favorite moments that I wish I could list, but if I listed them all I would be giving too much of the story away. I almost cry at one of my favorite it was so sweet. I always say it and I'm saying it again, romances of old high school crushes that reunites never gets old I love them.Storyline: GOODEnjoyment: GOOD***************Who is Romance Novel Junkies? http://www.romancenoveljunkies.com

This is my 2nd book by Morgan Kearns. Her first book is "Fade to Black" which was also a great read. And she is such a great writer. Her first book lured you in immediately and "In It To Win It" grabs you as well. A great romance read."In It To Win It" is a sweet romance about love, pain and forgiveness. The story teaches you that when life throws you curve balls. You have to stand up to the plate and hit it out the park. Don't let it knock you down. It's about not letting hurt and pain get in the way of finding true happiness and just forgiving so you can enjoy your life.In "Win" you have your "Plain Jane" that gets hurt by her boyfriend in High School which leads her to decide to leave town. Becoming a successful reporter she is then thrown yet another curve ball, when she has to interview "him" Grayson Pierce. Not exactly excited nor looking forward to her interview with Grayson. He offers her an "exclusive" interview. No holds barred. But little did she know that what he's planning on proving to her that not only is he "In it to win it" at the World Series but her heart as well.I really enjoyed this book. What I like most about it is how Jane wasn't one of those women that nag and cry about what he did to her. Instead she was a woman about it. She did what she had to do professionally and ended up getting what she wanted as a woman. Her happiness. Whatever Morgan Kearns puts on ink I will read. She's an author that captivates you the moment you open her book and begin reading. She has a fan for life with me. "In It To Win It" a definite Good Choice for Reading. In my book 5 out of 5 Stars! For more information on Morgan Kearns, check out the link below:http://morgankearns.com/

"In It To Win It" revolves around a baseball star and a sports writer who knew each other in high school. Fifteen years later she's assigned the job of getting an interview with him & sparks reignite. It's a good romance with a little twist of suspense that is a bit far-fetched but fun to read.

In It To Win It is the second book in the Deadlines & Diamonds series. It is also the fourth book I've read by Morgan! After falling completely in love with Fade to Black, I wondered how In It To Win It would compare. Well let me tell you, In It To Win It is even better than Fade to Black. It's half the length of FtB but packs quite a punch!(Sorry, Rich. Sorry, Kate. I still love you both!) In It To Win It is the story of Grayson Pierce, the smoking hot, bad-boy baseball player, and Jane Alexander the "plain" sportscaster for KHB. The two share a past and things get pretty tense for a while and helps heat things up. The two of them have great chemistry!I stand by the statement I made in my review for Fade to Black. Morgan really is the Queen of Contemporary. Once again the story excels with the characters she's created. I applaud for the wonderful character development. Each character is unique from all other characters. Not only that, but several of the characters from Fade to Black appear in Grayson's book! (Nate! <3) We also meet Xavier, Rockets Rookie and the star of book three, Out of Left Field. After the brief taste of him, I'm unbelievably excited to read it. And no, not just because of the Jimmy Thomas cover... Okay...Part of it is that cover. :)There are so many sweet moments in this book. I nearly bawled like a baby in the end. The last chapter is gold! Where can I find a guy like Grayson? Lots of romance, humor, and suspense as well. The story line is so intense and intricate. There are lots of new factors playing out in this novel. This series has quickly become an addiction. Definitely a favorite of mine! I'll be sad when I finish book 3 because then I'll have to wait for Santiago, book 4's man! I promise I'll be patient, Morgan! :) I'll be cheering you on from the bleachers!Instead of voicing how much of a fool I was not to pick up these books sooner, I'm going to go start on book 3!

I spent my 4th of July curled up with Grayson Pierce. That was the BEST 4th of July I have had with a book in a real long time. Morgan Kearns never ceases to amaze me with her incredible story telling skills. I love the fact that Grayson and Jane's story is so relatable. What they went through any one of us could have gone through and I liked that. It makes you feel connected/invested to their story. I also loved the fact that we got to see some old friends from KHB (Fade To Black). Jane is a sports caster that wants to prove that she is a great journalist and Grayson is a baseball player out to win The World Series. Neither ever thought they would see each other again, never mind embarking on a whirlwind news story. Jane sees it as an opportunity to cover a big story (even if it isn't the story she wants to be covering) and Grayson sees it as the opportunity of a life time (a second chance if you will), I just couldn't put this book down. Grayson is such a HOT character it is hard to choose between him and Rich Spencer from Fade To Black. On a scale from 1-10 I give this book a gigantic 10. Morgan you now have a devoted fan for life. Your books just get better and better. If you are a fan of Baseball, true love, love conquering all, and second chances you NEED to read this book. If you LOVED Fade To Black you need to pick up In It To Win It. If you haven't read either pick them both up and be prepared to be AMAZED, in my opinion.Link:http://www.morgankearns.com/

I have to admit, I don't give out 5-star reviews easily. I enjoyed In It to Win It, though. There was a certain charm about Morgan Kearn's writing. It started out a fun, easy romance, then quickly turned into a thriller towards the end. Grayson seemed to be a baseball player that had a kind of bipolar disorder or a multiple personality. One minute, he loved Jane and was excited to see her- the next, he was a sleazebag. I honestly wanted Jane to run until Grayson requested she stay the week at his house to research him for her news story. When it was revealed he had a pilot's license and owned/operated a ranch, I almost died from the description. A lot of romance writers will just say "the hero is a pilot" or "the hero does blah blah blah" and then skimp on the details that make these attributes sexy, making it seem incoherent and then the story falls flat. Kearns did not. She wrote Grayson well and with passion- she "showed" and didn't "tell." Grayson was an extremely three dimensional hero. This is why I loved Grayson so much and was so pleased to see how the love story evolved. The love scenes were there, but written with a lot of class. There wasn't a lot of graphic love-making descriptions, but you could still see the passion and the sparks between the characters. I think it's wonderful when a writer doesn't have to resort to graphic descriptions of sex to steam up the story- just lets the story between the main characters make the plot come to life. All that was included was just enough to move the storyline along- and left you hoping for more. So often, I see a "romance" or a "love story" that is filled with pointless graphic sex scenes for filler. Good romance writers only use love scenes to move the plot along. So often, the sexual interactions don't move the story along in these cases, but what little we did see In It to Win It made the two protagonists fall further and further into love. Bravo, Ms. Kearns! That takes a lot of talent! My only complaint is that we didn't get to see Jane's family situation earlier in the book (I may be mistaken and have to go back and re-read it, though) because I thought her father was wonderful. I liked him a lot!PS- I really hope Ms. Kearns writes a story about Molly finding true love. I just feel like the poor girl deserves it!

CLICK HERE TO READ MORE REVIEWS AT READING, EATING AND DREAMING I WAS BLAIR WALDORFIn It To Win It by Morgan Kearns is a great adult romance. Grayson is a professional baseball player with a bad reputation. Jane Alexander is a sports newscaster at KHb-Salt Lake, the same place Kate and Rich worked in Fade to Black. In fact, a lot of the characters from Fade to Black make a guest appearance in this novel.Jane and Grayson have history. They had feelings for one another in high school, but somewhere along the way things went bad. In It To Win It begins 15 years later when Jane’s news assignment is to follow Grayson’s baseball team during playoffs. When they see each other for the first time after 15 years sparks, tempers and emotions fly.I started In It To Win It directly after Fade to Black, and I would recommend the same thing to readers. Fade to Black was an intense and emotional romance. In It To Win It was a lighter, sweeter romance. In my opinion, it was exactly what I needed following a more intense novel.Like I have said before, I am not easily shocked! Well, In It To Win It definitely surprised the heck out of me. I was reading along and then I was like, “No freaking way! I didn’t see that coming!” Which is one of my favorite things!!The only thing that bugged me in this novel was Jane’s character. In the beginning of this novel, she was really emotional and rude, but she does make up for it in the end. Also, a lot of Jane and Grayson’s problems could have been avoided with a little communication.I gave In It To Win It by Morgan Kearns 4 STARS (3.5 STARS). I recommend this novel to adults looking for a sweet romance with some twists. I strongly recommend this novel to adults who have read and enjoyed Fade to Black.-XOXOREADING, EATING AND DREAMING

In It To Win It, the second book in the Deadlines and Diamonds series left me breathless and wanting more. KHB Sportscaster, Jane Alexander, is sent to follow the Rockets baseball teams journey through the post season playoffs and is reunited with her highschool beau, Grayson Pierce, the star player on the team. This is not a happy reunion for Jane as she relives the trauma of her highschool days and her perceived rejections. The interaction between main characters Grayson and Jane is electric.Grayson's determination to win Jane's heart again is fraught with a little mystery, many trials and misunderstandings and there were times when I just wanted to scream at them both for being so obstinate. Ultimately, Grayson turned out to be the most heart melting hero I have read in a long time.I found Jane to be a strong heroine, although she annoyed me on more than one occasion with her refusal to tell Grayson why she was trying so desperately to not become involved in his life again. But, hey, if it had been done my way it would not have been much of a story.I enjoyed seeing characters from Fade To Black pop in and out of the story and in the end my heart melted and I could not wait to read the next book in this series.Morgan Kearns is, in my opinion, a master at romance. This book had just the right amounts of intrigue, angst and romance to keep the reader in 'cannot put it down' mode.

In It To Win It by Morgan KearnsWow what a great read! I like baseball and teaming that up with a woman sports reporter was a sure thing. But there are so many things that happen to prevent it from just happening naturally.Love the escape to the big house, the farm animal scenes and the ride on the horses. I just fell in love with these scenes as I was fearing the book was more about baseball than anything else. Love things the characters did along the way and the mystery that came to the forefront. And that some of this happened at Christmas made it a treasure in itself. The family things that occurred then reminded me of my own family gatherings and celebrations. How simple a thing, just an unbreakable bulb for the tree turned this story intosomething to treasure. The Characters really stepped up to the plate. Love how the lives intertwined with just a handful of others. Very easy to keep track of who is who and their traits.I rate this book a 5 and will move the author to my list of those that will not disappoint in telling their tales, and you know , no matter what the picture is on the cover or the name of the book or what it's about, that the book from this author is a must have.

How often do you get to text the author of a book the day you get it in the mail… signed by her? Not too often for me, but in this case I got to do just that. I am so honored to consider Morgan one of my great friends and promise not to have too much bias in this review… maybe!I think that we can all relate to being someone who feels looked over by the hot guy. Jane Alexander experiences the same thing only hers comes back to face her high school problems when she least expects it. She has recreated herself and avoided Grayson Pierce up until now, but it seems that fate has something else in mind for Jane. Grayson seems to be your typical self-obsessed jock yet Jane can see a different side of him and yearns to let everyone else see that. Every time she sees a redeeming quality within him, he does something to shoot it down and remind her why she has avoided him all these years. The plot, characters, twists and turns and especially the romance are sure to keep you turning page after page until you get to the end and are dying for more. In Morgan’s second novel you are left with a great sense of who the characters are and feel as if they are your long lost friends just as you did with her debut novel Fade to Black (read my review on the blog). Another great read!!

I read Morgan Kearns’ Fade to Black first and knew I had to have the second book in the series. From the beginning, I felt personally involved with the characters, developing a bit of a love hate with her yummy main male character, baseball player Grayson Pierce. I also found that I immediately wanted the best for sportscaster Jane, the female main character of the book … and I hoped that best would be Grayson (even if he could be a total jerk and made me question the sanity of that desire from time to time). Once again, Morgan takes us into the behind the scenes world of news reporting, which I enjoyed very much. We also get to see appearance by characters from the first book. To say Morgan’s books are wearing me out is an understatement – because I tend to stay up way too late reading them! I’m already counting the days until book 3 in this series is available.

Nice relaxing read. In it to Win It was a fast pace story that had cute characters that I enjoyed watching/reading interacting with one another. The way the author allowed the reader to watch the characters unfold to one another was sweet and romantic. Loved seeing who Grayson really was! The intertwined twist to the story was a nice bonus I didn't see coming. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series and getting to know X along with the hopes of a glimpse into past characters from the pervious books!

"In it to Win" is a classic old fashion romance story with an element of mystery and a twist in the plot that makes the reader anxious to see how the story plays out in the end. The first chapter definitely gets your attention, and after that the progress throughout the rest of the book reminds me of a cat and mouse game. The second half of the book definitely had an interesting twist that added to the excitement of the story. Once you start it, you won’t want to put it down until you're finished.

Romance with a twist! That's what you will get when you read In It To Win It. Unrequited love and the curves and bumps that it takes to get to the resolution of all the past feelings by both Jane and Grayson. It's not all a bed of roses because there is a twist that you won't expect. Morgan Kearns has done it again. I look forward to reading more from her!

Another great book by Morgan Kearns! She is so good at pulling you into the story and bringing the characters to life. Grayson and Jane's love story is so real that you have to wonder if she is writing about her own love story? Well written and full of warm fuzzies, laughs, tears and a VERY happy ending.

When I first brought this book I assumed it was gonna be your typical "teenage heart break vs adult life" kinda story.I was gladly wrong, it is about that but it is also so much more.Morgan added one of the best plot twists I've read to the story which just made it so much better. The characters are lovable, and its an easy and comfortable read.Highly recommend this book.

Well, this is a great read. I loved Grayson and Jane relationship from the start. And it was soooo good to see some characters from Fade to Black like Nate, Kate, Dale and Rick! There were some really funny moments on this book such. “Please tell me you feel something for me. If you don’t love me yet, I’m willing to help you see the light.”

This one by Morgan Kearns was great too. I liked how she referenced characters from "Fade to Black". It's a great romance novel with a little twist in the plot. The author has a great way of providing enough detail that you can identify with the character but not so much detail that you find yourself skimming through pages.

A fun, quick read. I really liked Grayson, its not often you get to see how nervous, excited etc the hero is to see or impress the heroine. I wouldn't have expected it, but theres a little suspense too.

I loved the first book in this series and was excited to read this but honestly I could not move more than 40% of the book. The characters are boring and seem a bit bipolar. They frustrated me and angered me in equal measure and I didn't care what happened to them. It seemed that the story was not going anywhere. I don't know, this book was not for me. I will read the following story to see how it is,though.________________Amé el primer libro de esta serie y estaba emocionada por poder leer éste pero honestamente no he podido avanzar más del 40% del libro.
