This volume picks up right where the last one left off and once again, this was incredibly done! Very lightweight but always extremely funny and enjoyable overall. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This series just gets more and more interesting! I love the fact that we are learning more about Rin's capability and power! This volume was also interesting because Rin has been discovered by his friends and now they are trying to decide what they feel about the whole thing. The truth is so am I! I know that it would be a hard thing to accept since Rin seemed like them but when they found out he was Satan's son their feelings changed. I felt bad for the guy since he was just trying to help them. But as always, stuff happens and things are found out and everyone is acting like a hot mess. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is Mephisto's plan since it seems to me that his goals aren't for the order or for the demons either. I'm not exactly sure, but I'm starting to think that he has his own goals that he wants to achieve. The only question is, what are those goals? And what do Rin and Amaimon have to with the whole thing?I think the idea behind the exorcist school is how they learn teamwork is really interesting too. I feel like as they learn more about working with one another and working hard, they will soon be able to become fine exorcists and work well to accomplish their purpose. But this got me thinking. Let's say Satan gets defeated, then what? The demons wouldn't really have a leader anymore so that would be confusing. They would probably cause chaos....or would they all be destroyed? I know that this series may end with the defeat of Satan but we can never be too sure. And also, mangas tend to change their focus and they continue so we don't even know what's going to happen. It's all an interesting debate to consider. But for now, I am going to keep reading and see for myself what happens.

So Goodreads chewed up my first review. Great. - 3 - And I am kind of lazy to rewrite it so I am going to do point form.- Remember cliffhanger from last volume? So this volume had a great start.- Love the fighting, teamwork, friendship, and suspense- I love how the series is also very funny. I love Rin's faces xD- Shura is cool. She reminds me of Rangiku from Bleach but more powerful.- I also like Suguro. He is definitely very similar to Rin and you, as the reader, will know he will not be as good as Rin- The survival exam/training thing lasted about 1/2 of the volume and it didn't felt draggy.- A new character, Arthur (who is also from the Vatican) came in this volume. I have to say, I don't like him. He kind of caused a bit of a stir up.- I don't know if Mephisto is good or bad but I don't really care. I don't like his personality. He is like a higher up that plots and plan stuff secretly. He just gives me the chill.- Rin like typical boy main character, is hot headed, ambitious, out of control. It is fun to see him grow and try to control himself. He is so similar to Naruto that I kind of want to hug him...tight.- The last part of the volume was definitely fun to read. We saw a tiny, tiny bit more of Yukio and Shura. (I swear, I will now confess my hidden love for Yukio).- This volume left us with a small cliffhanger. You know the type that makes it just tempting enough for you to want to read the next volume? ;)Sorry if this is a crappy review. I just really didn't want to re-write my previous review that didn't save. It got stuck on "saving" with the eternal revolving circle of doom. *sigh*

I always forget how good this series is , along with the anime! I picked this up about 4 months after actually getting it (too much manga, too little time ^^;) I had to struggle to remember ALL the character names and spent around an hour remembering the plot so far. This book was quite tense because of the court trial and the thin line between the trust of Rin and his teammates. Also I hope i'm not the only one who thinks that occasionally... Amaimon looks like a unicorn!? I also watch the anime in time with where I get up to in the books and after much deliberation whether to stick with dub (It sounded horrible after one year of not watching) or to go with Netflix's horrible sub job (with many grammar errors... COME ON Netflix... you CAN do better -_-) I love these books and I already have 6&7 on order, yet to arrive DX

Apparently, I either forgot to review volumes 4-7 (or they vanished), I think we can safely assume that the Japanese tendency towards making jokes about large busted females is still there, probably a couple of panty shots if they could get away with it (or was it a bath scene where the girls didn't quite make it to getting undressed all the way...) whatever it was, in Japan it is considered juvenile humor (I mostly consider it boring humor and just move on to the better parts). The violence level is pretty consistently PG-13 in that there is blood, but not guts. There may have been some cursing and the Church is not terribly well-portrayed in all of this...

I knew that what happened in this book was about to come (no spoilers so what I say is very restricted) but I never thought it would break my heart so much. I understand that Bon and the others are now curious and want to be safe but they promised to be with Rin no matter what.As I said, it made me feel sad and bad.But I love it because Rin now has new motives and I am really excited to see what is going to happen next. I will read Tokyo Ghoul for Halloween and also Wolf Guy and after October is over, I may read Volume 5!!Recommended as always~Mary

Volume 4: Ch. 12-15 Episode 14 - Vol. 3, Ch. 11, Vol. 4, Ch. 12 [to mid]Episode 15 - Vol. 4, Ch. 12-14 [beg]Episode 16 - Vol. 4, Ch. 14-15 [mid]Episode 17 - Vol. 4, Ch. 14-15This volume is still a jumbled mess because this is where the anime and manga are starting to jumble in together. Ch. 14 - So the cat's out of the bag. Rin is the son of Satan. Awww. It looks like nobody approves of Rin being the son. That's so sad... Dang. In the manga it shows Rin waking up and trying to laugh it off that he's the son of Satan to his friends. Suguro and Shiemi pretty much get angry and walk off. My heart. In the anime, that scene doesn't show up. Instead, Yukio is shown going ahead and telling the others what had happened. The manga is so much more harsher. AHHA. Also, Arthur basically cuts off the lower part of his leg so that he couldn't really move but in the anime they have him locked up, frozen?, in this block of ice? Ch. 15 - Man. I should be sleeping. HAHA. Uhhh. This is where the anime differs from the manga greatly. I think that the crew is in another town, trying to find a place where they can fix up Kurikara so that Rin can go back to normal but the manga already shows that Shima, Bon, and Konekomaru have been in the hospital and Rin has shown up for class and is already meeting up with the girls again. This new teacher looks so laid-back. He kind of almost looks normal compared to everybody. HAHA. OKAY, NOW they are showing a few scenes that are the same. I love it whenever the brothers get to talk. Yukio totally feels like the other brother. To think that Rin was the one who took care of him when they were younger. It's sort of like me and my sister. Pretty much everybody thinks that she's the older one because she seems so mature but I'm obviously the protective one. Omg. I'm just thinking that Yukio used to be this kid that would cry all the time and now he's this composed guy with nice arms and uses duel guns. HAHA. OMG. YAAAASSS. THANKS, RIN, FOR THE PRESENT. HAHAHA. Burnin' off their clothes. HAHA. Time to go on another mission!`` This time they are going to go to save some monk. Ep.. 14 - Okay, so Kirigakure isn't 18. HAHAHA. FIGURED. Rin goes to save Shiemi because wynaut and Suguro sees the blue flames. I mean, he isn't dumb. What if he's just playing along and thinking that Rin is Satan's child and just is keeping it to myself. Wouldn't be the first time that a character did something like that.Dude. I really like Bon. He was able to draw and describe a plan all while reciting scripture. Ep. 15 - Still really like Bon. He's so cool, mang. HAHA. Moths are totally creepy to me. This is where I get to learn about the second season becoming the adaptation of volume five. We're in volume four right now and there are still a ton of episodes in this season left. I wonder what's going to happen. I mean, I know that these episodes recap and that takes up some time for that, too. Hmmm. We'll see. Dang. Kirigakure didn't even pour any of the Holy water on Rin. I'm sure one of them would know that Rin has something to do with the devil. Basically RIn isn't worth anything if he doesn't have his blue flames. AWWW. THESE KIDS ARE SO COOL. FIGHT FOR YOUR FRIENDS. Konekomaru totally just broke his arm for him while the other two were just thrown around. Dang, man. So pretty much Amaimon has been hinting that they're all related. OH, DUDE. Rin just totally destroyed Mephisto's clock thing. In the manga, Amaimon put up a bit of a fight so that he could keep playing around with Rin but the anime just showed him just waiting to be snatched up by the cuckoo clock. Man. The next episode is going to be interesting. More new characters that are determined to destory Rin!``Ep. 16 - Whelp. Amaimon isn't dead. HAHA. AW. Shiemi goes up and hugs Rin. Wouldn't the blue flames hurt her? I thought that blue flames are the hottest flames possible. OMG. WHO IS THIS. ARTHUR AUGUSTE ANGEL. Yeah. Konekomaru totally got the bad end of this fight. HAHA. He's the only one who was hospitalized. They cut out some really harsh parts of the manga. I don't know how I feel about that. So, I believe, that the plan is for them to take Kurikara to the Yoshikuni so that they can fix the sword. If they fix the sword then Rin came put his satanic powers under wraps like he had been before. That's sweet. Konekomaru seemed to be the only person who spoke out about---OMG. THIS GIRL THAT HUGGED BON IS SO FRICKIN' ADORABLE. Man. This trial is so frickin' long. While they are starting to become attacked by Amaimon, the crew is down in another village already getting ready to fix Kurikara. The next episode will be about some training it looks like!``Ep. 17 - The crew is still trying to fix Rin's sword. They have the materials and is just in the middle of fixing it. Amaimon shows up and Angel and Kirigakure destroy his Behemoth. OMG. THERE'S A SNIPER. Man. His friends are totally just in this trial. In the manga, his friends aren't there during this trial but in the anime all of his friends are there to help him even bringing his sword back.Sooo... Wait. His sword is finally fixed and they all raced back to help Rin during this trial. Rin uses his sword and kills of Amaimon. I'm guessing he's actually dead this time? MMK. So the Grigori are in favor of Mephisto. Now Mephisto has been telling the staff to watch over Rin, basically, and then explained all of the rules. Y'know, that he has to pass the exam, be under surveilliance. Oh. Now Rin is meeting up with the other classmates again. It sort of seems like Konekomaru is really uncomfortable with Rin. The blue flames don't really seem to hurt Shiemi. well, that answers that question but it killed off a lot of other people. NOW we get to see how Suguro feels about Rin being the son of Satan. Now we're getting back to the manga. HAHA. Rin gets pulled into another curriculum and is in the batting cage. Now he's going to be training. Shura starts him off with the candle exercise. HAHHA. Young Yukio cussing. I love seeing Shiro in these flashbacks, man. He really did care for these kids. OMGGGG. They are so cool. Yukio and Shura just keeping up. OH. WHAT IS THAT MARK, YUKIO. Bon is promising to be the best paladdin for Konekomaru's parents. When Konekomaru goes out to think he is brought on by the weakess.

THE GOOD Rin vs Amaimon: Oh that was a cool ass fight, and boy was Amaimon very cocky and sure of the fact he would be able to beat Rin. It was very therapeutic to see him get his butt whooped.Rin and His Friends; ... are they still his friends? Well shit. I'm not too sure I like how quiet all of them have been. I mean, I can understand being mad about being lied to, but surely they'll understand that he couldn't tell them or was scared to. Right? THE BAD Mephisto: I am getting sick of mister gamemaster here.

Excellent. :D I very much enjoyed the first part of where they're in the woods. :) really shows how the kids have come to care for & respect each other. A wonderful addition to the series. the art is just getting better and better & so is the plot. Definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Recommended for fans of manga and fantasy.

It's a confusing volume 'cause it starts with the same events from the manga until around chapter 13 and one can see a lot of changes. Keeping track with every new detail was a bit frustrating . However, the volume in general was OK.

Rin and his classmates are still in the forest district trying to find the lanterns. The ones who find the lanterns get a spot on an actual mission!Shura' not making it easy for Rin though. She doesn't want him to use his blue flame and has taken his sword away. Rin's upset but simply sees this as a challenge. By the way, Shura likes to dress skimpy. So there are several scenes in which she wears a bra and SHORT shorts. Also after Rin sets off his blue flame he burns her clothes and Yukio's clothes off. No nudity because they both have underwear on, bottom half.Amaimon, is also making things hard for Rin. He's been bored for so long that when his older brother brings him to True Cross Academy his excitement comes back. Mephisto also has plans up his sleeves for Rin. Which includes turning Rin into a weapon that works for the exorcist. I mean as the tag line of this series goes, fight hell fire WITH hell fire. The trouble is hiding his abilities from his classmates, I mean what will especially Bron think of Rin being the son of Satan. Just when things are stable and he feels as though he has friends, Amaimon is set forth on Rin. Poor Shiemi gets caught in the middle of this little "game".Action, action, and more ACTION in this installment! I quickly blazed through the book and was saddened to find I had reached the end. Rin's been placed into a wager and now he must endure training. Trying to tame your own flame's harder than he would've expected.I'm wanting to get the next books to find out where this MAJOR turning points going to lead! Check, oh here checkie, checkie. Yes, I know that's not a word but bleh.Language, lots of boob action because of course one of the female characters doesn't know how to wear clothes, and tons of action! There are some slight bloody scenes but nothing stomach turning. I like how this series balances things out with comedy.
